"Konami have done better, but this is still good.."

Ring Of Red:
Konami have definitely done better than this in the past, but this is still not a bad game at all. Ring of red is filled with action and strategy. Is it held in the 1960's Japan, but it has been made more futuristic. You pilot a vehicle with either 2 or 4 legs. They´re called AFW's. You have to fight against the north of Japan using these. The game is not very hard to pick up on, but for a spectator such as a friend, it can be near to the impossible. You have to play it to learn it...Once you play it, the rest will come in the matter of an hour.

Graphics: 8
Although the graphics are quite edgy, they are still fine. The AFW´s look just fine, it's just the actual people that look kind of weird. The landscape graphics are also fine, and while moving the AFW's through the landscape, everything looks about fine too.

Sound: 8
The sound is not near to perfect, but it's still cool to hear those big heavy machines move around to dramatic music. Apart from that there isn't much music at all, so what am I supposed to say???

Storyline: 9
This is one of the most valuable aspects of the game. It's not very complicated, but you still have to follow carefully as you meet new characters and enemies. this game would have most definitely made a great book, but the story is far too simple to have ever made it onto the big screen.

Replay Value: 4
This game is really not the type you play many times unless you're just a Konami fanatic who's gone berserk... The game mostly builds on the storyline, so when you already know that, there's really no point of playing the game again...The only reason to actually play this game again is if you loved the battle system so much that you just can't have enough of it...

Overall: 7
This game is not bad, but it tends to get boring after a few weeks of intense playing. This was the first game I got for my PS2, but since I got bored of it, I'm playing it now instead, and I realized it's not so boring after all. You can use your own strategies by changing troops to your likings and using special abilities such as charging the AFW's with rockets or grenades.
