Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon

"A Bad Armored Core Knock-off"

Now lets get one thing straight, I am a huge Gundam fan, and even if this game is bad i still like the series. But, this is one of the few Gundam games that Bandai made that is bad. This Gundam game could have been so much more. But it ended up being a knock-off of the Armored Core series for the Playstation and Playstation 2. But, this isn't as half as good as those games since it just isn't fun to play. Here is what I think:

GRAPHICS: 9

This game has some of the best games out of any Playstation 2 game out. Smooth frame rate and great looking textures and models makes Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon the best looking Gundam game out. Defiantly one of the highs of this game.

SOUND: 5

The only thing good about the sound is the voice acting because Bandai got the people who did the characters voices on the show to do the voices in this game. And that is the best part about the sound. The music is a horrible collection of 70's songs that aren't even in the series. One would think that is Bandai got the voice actors to be in this game that they would game some of the soundtracks from the series in this game. But they didn't, except for the main theme which is in the series.

GAMEPLAY: 4

This game has 3 game modes (4 including the mode you have to earn), Arcade, Vs., and Campaign, which aren't fun. The controls in this game are easy to use, except in space, where it is even hard to move in a straight line. You can learn the controls in about 5 minutes. The A.I is cheap in this game. The enemies are always dodging, you can never hit them. The gameplay for this Gundam game is horrible.

FUN: 1

I don't know why, but this game is really not fun to play, at all. Playing through Arcade mode and Campaign mode seems like hard work, not fun at all, mainly because of the gameplay. Just not fun, simple as that.

LASTING APPEAL: 2

The vs. mode can't even save this game. And since it is not fun to play the lasting appeal got knocked down a couple of points. If you really want to see this game, rent it, don't buy.

I recommend any other Gundam game to play.
