""Hail to the king,baby""

''This...is my BOOMSTICK!''

The Evil Dead trilogy are some of the funniest movies ever to exist. (Due to Bruce Campbell). Although there is no new movie planned, THQ and VIS Interactive (State of Emergency) have made this game...which seems just like a sequel...and should be one, might i add.

Graphics: 7/10

Not exactly top-of-the-line, but they get the job done. Ash himself looks well-made, but zombies and most bad guys tend to lack a lot of detail. The blood also looks stupid-looking. But this game isnt about good graphics, because when youre venting some steam on the people of Dearborn, you dont care how crisp the lines are.

Story: 6/10

One year after the events of Army of Dakness,(S-mart ending) The Neceromicon ex mortis (Book of the dead) unleashes a horde of deadites on the town of Dearborn. Well, except for one person: Ash. He isnt gonna cash in his chips anytime soon, so he must fight the deadites to escape from Dearborn. It was never elaborated upon, and it is kinda stupid, but is gets the job done.

Sound: 9/10

Bruce Campbell's one-liners are still making me laugh. He says different ones when you do something different. (EX: Shoot off a deadite head= ''Oh, my head feels fine...how 'bout yours?''). The Music is also very well-composed and made, with both haunting and battle music. Sound effects are also right on target. When you hear a deadite roar, you'll know what I mean.

Gameplay: 8/10

This game plays a lot like state of Emergency...'cept it isnt horrible. Ash has to run around from a 3rd-person angle and shoot things. Deadites can come from anywhere, and you fell a satisfaction when you gun them all down. Thats another thing: The combat. Ash can hold 2 weapons in his hand...Which means he can chainsaw a foe, then, with his ''Free'' hand, shoot a deadite with a over-the-shoulder move with his boomstick. There are a lot of weapons, too. Ash can use weapons for his free hand, weapons that replace his chainsaw hand, and magic spells. Whoa.

REPLAY VALUE: 0/10

There is nothing to unlock. Really. But the 1-player is good enough to last a long time. Maybe you can try that again.

Overall: 8/10

THE GOOD: Bruce Campbell is wicked funny. Plus, Its Evil Dead.

THE BAD: Why cant i skip cut-scenes?

THE UGLY: EGM thought this was horrible.

Rent or Buy: Buy. Even if you arnt a huge Evil Dead fan, buy this anyway. Its cheap, too!
