Burnout 2: Point of Impact

"Very Good"

This is only going to be a short review guys, as my hands really hurt. From playing this game actually! Racing games on ps2 have always been good, but only some. Most are not good, like the hordes of F1 games that come out and send us to sleep. However one game is here to save the day. No more sims, this is Burnout 2, a great arcade game.


Graphics - 9

These are very good, they move at a fast frame rate (60fps) which means the game moves real smooth. The cars are well detailed, especially when they crash, which is breath taking. The textures on the road are very good, however I can't help feeling that the trees and other background detail could do with some work. Also when you crash why aren't there any explosions? This will hopefully be in Burnout 3. When you do a burnout, the graphics go super cool, with good blurring effects.

Sound - 7

Nothing wrong here, some great music to get your heart pounding. However the music is a little unoriginal and doesn't seem different. When you do a burnout, the music changes which is cool.

Gameplay - 9

It's very fast for starters, and will make your heart race nearly as fast. The controls are very good, simple to use, however the slower of human beings may find this game a little too taxing. The array of modes makes things varied to. The one thing you want to do is to do a ''burnout'', which is much easier than the last game to do, and is much more satisfying.

Lifespan 10

Loads of cool modes, like crash mode, championship, cop mode plus arcade and time trail makes this game a long lasting one. It also has tons of really fast and wacky cars to unlock, including gangster cars! Multiplayer is good too, with many modes, and the wicked crash mode, which only needs one controller and makes a mean party!

Overall

This game is worthy of your attention. If you want a game that is realistic, sim like, with 1000's of cars, get Gt3. If you want a game with ultra fast arcade game play, cool cars, burning the tracks with your rubber, get this, the most fast, adrenaline pumping game on the ps2, and GC and Xbox for that matter.
