"Will It Live Up To The Great 2D Game??"

For all you people that are Planning To Get/got The Game ROCKMAN X7 great, you will be having fun for a while.

The Rockman game is back for the PS2 with cool looking 3d graphics and lots of new features. Im going to go over what I experienced when i played this game. So sit tight and read on....

The Thumbs UP...
1. Capcom added a new feature to the game, sometime through the game you will play in 2D mode. 2D mode looks simmilar to the other Rockman/Megaman games (SIDE SCROLLER). And the other mode is called 3D mode. That looks kinda like Megaman legend style except better.

2. You have a new character to play as. His name is AXEL he is simmilar to X except he doesn\'t use a X buster or a \'\'AXEL BUSTER\'\'. He has a laser gun. He can charge it up too like X but it isn\'t as big. A \'\'LASER GUN\'\' might sound corny but I think AXEL is just as good as X

3. There is this new system where you get this things called power up chips by saving the hostages (Like in X5,X6) They will enhance your characters abilities. For example... ZERO can do more combos with his Z saber, and AXEL can have Rapid shot ETC..

4. The Levels are pretty challenging, I think that the levels were challenging while some were easy. You can always turn up the difficulty if you like it hard.

5. This Rockman has a nice soundtrack to it. The Opening,the stages,etc they all have new sound tracks. (Of course they kept the X BUSTER Charging noise though).

The Thumbs DOWN...
1. Sometimes in the game you will encounter glitches and that could get you killed easily during a challenging stage. The check points are pretty far too.

2. The bosses seems to be way EASIER than any other Rockman games. I mean I had a pretty hard time going through the stage but the bosses are really easy no doubt about it.

3. I think that CAPCOM over powered one of ZERO\'s moves, Its this hurricane uppercut looking move (except he uses the sword) That seems to Take away A LOT of health from the bosses.

4. For all you X fans this is bad news, you actually cannot play as X from the beginning. You have to do a certian task to play as him (for people that want to know badly send me a IM on AIM SN:VLASER119).

5. Here is another bad news for X fans X only has 1 armor now. but its pretty good. The thing is you really dont need this armor to clear the game either. Its just to make you stronger or to get some items (hearts, subtanks, hostages etc).

OVERALL REVIEW

Graphics - 8: I give graphics 8 for this game. They look nice but still I miss the old 2D. But it wont really bother you im sure of that.

Sound - 9: Most CAPCOM games have a great sound in their games like songs, sound FX, BGM etc. Its great as usual.

Gameplay - 7: I give game play a 7 because.. Well I know CAPCOM is trying out stuffs but I think this wasn\'t The BEST Idea. You will see what I mean when you play the game. (some people might think its good so its really up to you for this one and the other overalls).

Controls - 8: The controls probably never changed from the other ones, except they changed the R and L buttons to lock on (for the enemy) its not weapon change anymore.. You use the right analog stick to change weapons. I would of gave it a 9 but the one thing is that when I play and im charging up X sometimes my finger accidently taps the Right Analog Stick and it changes the weapon. And when that happens your charged up X buster goes Bye Bye. So you have to charge it up again...

Replay Value - 6: In this game they just go with story so there isnt really much to collect except for RANK, ARMOR, HOSTAGE, HEARTS, SUBTANK etc.. So I think once you finish the game you wouldn\'t play this game for a while unless you really like it for some reason.

Well overall I give this game a 8. and by what I typed out I think it really didn\'t live up to the fast paced 2D action side scroller. If you are wondering if you should buy this game or just rent, I will go over it right now. AHEM, I think if you are trying to collect the Rockman games go for it BUY it!. If you are looking for a action game then I dont really recommend to buy it. This game I think you can just skim thorough it in no time compared to the other Rockman games. GL HF with ROCKMAN X7, (LUCKY for all you IMPORTERS). And if your waiting for the US version you can kind of see what this game would be like.
