Chaos Legion

"Stand down fiend, else I'll give you one for!"

This game is the greatest action game I have played in a long time. Imagine if you will a game that combines the best parts of Devil May Cry(the first one, not the sucky one) and Dynasty Warriors. Add amazing graphicals and some strategy and you have Chaos Legion.

Gameplay 8/10
The gameplay is amazing. Its fast and fun. It is a bit simple at first, consisting of slashes and jumps. Then you summon some Legion, and the arse woopin commences. This game has a bit of strategy in it also. Some Legion are better at taking down one type of enemy than the rest, so you have to choose which Legion to summon at which point of battle. And its great when there are 20+ enemies coming at you all at once. I can see where the gameplay might seem repetitive, but it has held strong so far. This is the kind of game you could play in the mornings before you head off to work or school, or you could have a quick smash fest before bed. Its very linear though, and that isnt bad, it just makes things a little easier. I want some side paths that could lead to my doom, just to make things interesting.

Graphics 9/10
These are great. Much better than DMCs graphics. The CG movies are beautifully rendered, with a dark, somewhat gritty feel to them. The in-game graphics are awesome too, also. Even in the most crowded of fights the game plays smoothly. At certain points it seemed to slow majorly, but only for a fraction of a second. This seems more like a programed slowdown, so I wont punish them for it.

Story 7/10
I havent played through the entire game yet, but so far the story is pretty intriguing, but with this kind of game a story isnt the most important part. It just gives you more of a reason to kill everything that moves.

Replay 8/10
This game seems like one I could replay several times, because it isnt so involved that it can become boring, and fighting those little boogers is so much fun.

Sound 8/10
I dont really notice the music when Im smashin things, and that is good. That means that it flows well with the game. The sound effects are nice too, nothing sounds cheesy or weird.

So there you have it. Chaos Legion is a great game, in my opinion, and thats the only thing that matters. I suggest everyone at least rent it.
