"Pure fun with little flaws."

I wasn't really interested in Chaos Legion until my friend said he had reserved after reading many comparisons to Devil May Cry I decided to reserve it as well. I was surprised when it turned out to be my favorite ps2 game. Of course that's not saying it's the best made game for ps2.

Graphics 7/10
From the moment I saw a picture of Sieg (the main character)I loved the style. While certainly not up to FFX in terms of graphics, (what game is?)the character models are well done. The only graphical flaw is the repetitive backgrounds.(but you won't notice because you'll be focused on fighting)

Sound ?/10
I must admit I barely notice the music over the sound effects and fighting for my life. the sound effects a great though and I'll often get swiped from behind while trying to listen to the scuttling of the basic four legged creature. (and the power attacks kinda drown out all other sound in the house if you have surround sound.

Gameplay 9/10
Everyone compares the play mechanics to Devil may cry but I can't see why. Strategy is completely different from DMC because of the ''legions.'' They are troops that you call into battle to aid you. You face ALOT more enemies than in DMC which changes everything. more than once you'll find yourselves dependent on your legions. The boss battles are very challenging and if you're not on easy mode you may find yourselves scratching your head wondering how on earth you can win. Which helps break up repetitive hack and slash.

Difficulty 10/10 After you beat normal mode (no simple task may the force be with you) you get hard mode. *gulp* But if you manage to move get through the valley of the shadow of death you get rewarded with super mode. the ultimate bragging right. I won't spoil it for you.

Controls 8/10
not much to say. they respond well enough. the camera gets too close sometimes. The simplicity of Sieg's attack controls gets boring eventually but not for awhile.

Replay value ?/10 I can't really say because I haven't stopped playing it yet so I don't know how long it lasts. There's plenty to unlock and if you wanna max out all the legion and become a wrecking machine you'll have invested maybe 25-30 hours. (the normal game takes 5-8 hours)

Overall 9/10 Just what I love to see in a game, the opposite of resident evil. monsters try and chase you and they'll regret it.
