"Most UNIQUE F1 game ever, but dogged with glitches"

F1 career challange is a revolutionary game in a rather crowded F1 sim market on the PS2. Every year we see at least two or three games of Formula one comes out, and F1 Career challange stands out from the crowd this year with its UNIQUE game mode, the career challange as it lets YOU the player become an F1 driver, whether you take a job at minardi and strugle to finish races, or whether you can get McLaren to get you a job offer and become world champion.

The only rival this game has is sony's Formula one 2003. While people who do not know much about the gaame maybe put off by the fact that the latest 2003 season is not included..... here is an insight to how great a game it is.

The main mode is the CAREER MODE. In this mode you start off by CREATING YOURSELF! You choose your own name, initials that come in on screen TV display, and you choose what you look like from 5/6 different models, and you can choose your own helmet design!

You complete a set of tasks to get a licence, and then you are approaches by different teams depending on how well you did.

You play through 4 seasons, 99, 00, 01 and 02. ALL cars and drivers and track changes are included from that period.

GRAPHICS: 10/10
STUNNING graphics, you can see the crowd waving banners, you can see every detail on the cars and track.

SOUND: 8/10
All the cars have different engine noises as they have different engines, however for some have the same E.G: the noise from the FERRARI 2001 is the same as the SAUBER 2002 as it was the same engine. When you are in the lead, or do a great overtaking move, the crowd go wild and start cheering and it feels like you are there. the technical directer gives you great help over the radio as well.
I would have given it 10 out of 10 but the sound in the cut scenes is rather unrealistic.

GAMEPLAY: 8/10
All cars handle differently and need getting used to at first, but then it is great to play as with the right set-up, it is really fun. The damage engine is great as well, in all other F1 games, wheels fall off, and front/rear wings fall off. well in this the nose breaks and so do the BARGE BOARDS! PS. When you blow an engine, you can actually SEE FLAMES not just smoke!
Again, this could have gotten 10 but there are a few glitches that can be frustrating at times like the fact that the AI cars sometimes drive through the pit but it still counts as a stop and this can give you a 10 disadvantage because they will be infront because they saved time when not pitting properly.

REPLAY VALUE: 10/10
Once you finish a career, do it again! this time accept different job offers and BUY different Pit babes, and helmet designs, race in the EVENING and other stuff. No two careers will be the same!

CONCLUSION: 8/10
GREAT GAME, BEST F1 GAME ON ANY CONSOLE TO DATE (and most original) but could have been better had it not been for the glitches. Die Hard F1 fans like myself will find them selves craving for Formula one 2003 after a while of playing this because you will want to have all the new and latest stats and rules.

THIS OR Formula one 2003?
For die hard F1 fans who have the money, I would say both. but for people who don't care about the latest rules and stats but just want the good gameplay, i'd say F1 Career Challange.
