Primal
Review by MajinRonin
"Primal...a game worth a look at"
Intro
-Primal is an action/adventure game based around a girl named Jen, and a gargoyle named Scree. Together they try to restore a balance in 4 different realms. Primal features a heck of a lot of exploring, as well as some very cool creatures.
Gameplay
- This is the ONE part of the game that really throws people off from even looking at it. Jen has 4 different demon forms, which are gianed through the game, which is cool. Each form has their own set of weapons/combos. However, here's the attack buttons: R2 and L2. R1 is block, L1 is back hit. When you press together R2 and L2 with different ammounts of pressure Jen can preform more damaging comobos. While this may seem nice, it ends up with you mashing those 2 buttons until the enemy goes into an unconcious state, where you then hit r2+l2 together to preform a death move. However, the action can be pretty fun when against mutliple enemies. The gameplay also includes switching between Jen and Scree to solve puzzles.

Story
-The story is very good. You start off in a rock concert, and Jen's BF Louis is kidnaped by a strange demon. You are knocked out, and wake up in a hospital bed next to a strange Gargoyle named Scree. It ends up Louis was taken to the Nexus(real hub) and you go after looking for him. As the sroty unfolds you realize that Jen is needed to restore order in 4 other realms to restore balance and find out where Louis went. Although it sounds a little korny, it is very cool

Graphics
-This is one of the games strong points. The graphics are very elaborate, with shadows percisley where they should be, real effect rain, detailed backgrounds and character models. The castle in Athea is a great example, the marbleston looks exactly real, or in the first level, then snow is great. The game features awesome lighting and fire effects
Graphics: 10
Sound
-Also great. Every footstep echoes on marble, the crunching of snow is heard when walking on it, the sound of torches being lit. Quite nice
Sound: 9
Playtime
-The game is pretty long, but after playing it you probably wont want to replay it. However, there are scenes you can revisist and replay, which is nice if you want to replay a certian part. Also, after beating the game yu cn go back through to collect all tarot cards, whcih allow you to view some very cool artwork form the game.
Playtime: 7
FINAL RECOMENDATION
-If you like adventure games where you like to explore with a little bit of acion in it, then go buy this. If you are looking for an action game like Devil May Cry, try renting this. If you like a cool story and some interesting concepts, i suggest Primal. Thanks for reading and i hope this will help.
