"A brillaint squad based action game"

Addictive, fun, excellent, brilliant, all of these word describe Freedom Fighters.

Gameplay 9/10
The strongest point in the game, as is with most games. The game, albeit short, has a feel to it that makes you want to delve into the minds of the characters you are playing as. The battling is great. Fighting with two soldiers at your side against a squad of Soviets is great fun. They have added some good features as well, such as the rag doll physics. Explosions really do make people go flying. Another thing to enjoy is the several different approaches to the missions. You have to attack an enemy outpost. You can either run straight into it, and likely be killed by machine gun fire, or search for a Snipers nest and steal the rifle, taking out all the troops on the ground before they know what hit them. The controls are easy to figure out, although the aiming mode can be hard to use. Easy is easy and normal is hard, a bit of a steep difficulty curve. Other than that, the gameplay is great.

Story 9/10
A great story to the game. The soviets taking the upper hand in WWII and dropping a bomb instead of America is the start of it, and from there the plot thickens with the whole world slowly become one, big communist state. Then, when New York is invaded, a plumber aged 32 tries to take it back, with the aid of some great supporting characters.

Graphics 8/10
Very well rendered scenery and the characters are well made. One little problem with the guns, they are a bit poor but overall, good graphics.

Music 10/10
The music is absolutely brilliant. You will have to hear it for yourself to make up your mind though.

Logetivity/Replay Value 7/10
This is the part that really lets the game down. The first time you play it (especially on easy) it will seem a bit too short. It has replay value, but even that will only last a little while before you get bored.

Overall 8/10
Great game, with a few let downs. But overall it is quite good and will keep you hooked. The multi player mode is great but you need a little while to get used to what to do in it.

Rent or Buy?
Rent. That is the best option. Rent it. You will pass it if you get it for two nights. Then, if you enjoyed it and want to play it again, then buy.
