NBA Jam

"Old school brought to the Next Gen."
NBA JAM
The what is and what not.
When you hear NBA Jam, you’ll instantly think about the old school game that made it’s debut on the Snes, Sega Megadrive and . It’s Back! and it’s BIGGER than ever. But will it live up to it’s name? That’s what this review is all about.
Gameplay - 8/10
This game is all about HUGE MONSTER dunks, BIG heads and a “small” court. It’s not difficult to understand the concept of this game and it’s also not a very difficult game to play or master. This game is not about the reality factor, it’s just a game you play for fun with a group of friends. In this game, there are practically “NO RULES ATTACHED” and you can just push a player in mid-air except that you’re still not allowed to goal tend.
Controls - 9/10
At first, this game’s amount of different controls will baffle you. There’s Turbo + this and Turbo + that to do this and that… You’ll be like What the ****. But as you start to play the game, you’ll get accustomed to it and you’ll find it really good to work with. On another side, this game supports the PS2 Multitap and can allow up to 4 players to play simultaneously in a game just like every basketball game.
Graphics - 9/10
This game has very good graphics, although you might not like the big head and all that but it fits along very well with the mad gameplay and crazy animations. The animations of this game flows very smoothly and has close to no glitches as I can see. And the replays has ultra cool effects and can be repeated with just a tap of a button.
Replayability - 7/10
This game does not score well in this field due to the fact that there is only 3 modes to play in and you’ll only get most of the replayability by playing it with three of your friends at once.
Overall - 9/10
Great game to play for the fun of it. But if you’re looking for a game that is realistic and plays with more tactics rather than bashing the players to get the ball and dunk, you’re much better off playing NBA Street Vol. 2 or NBA Live 2004.
Recommendation - If you’re up for a good time and has a lot of friends to play this game with, then it’s a “MUST BUY!”, or else, just “RENT IT”.
