FIFA Soccer 2004

"A great soccer game worth everyone's attention"

Fifa 2004 overall is a great game. I like the graphics, the sound is kind of shady, but still worth listening to, the gameplay improves a lot over 2003's and the replay is endless.

Graphics: 9/10
I didn't give a 10/10 because I believe there are some areas in which the game can improve. The camera angles for the most part are impressive. I would like to have more freedom to view my options for free kicks, but the angles still get the job done. The players are beautifully crafted. Believe me when I say that you know your using David Beckham. The top players in the world are all animated with fine detail, for example I'll use Ronaldo. You can see it's him because of his stature, the detail in his face (no, you can't see the humongous gap between his teeth) and the way he handles the ball. The stadiums are done in great detail as well. Highbury feels like Highbury, as does Old Trafford.

Sound: 7/10
I won't really go into detail with sound, because I don't need to. The sound fx are awesome, the sound when a players foot hits the ball, the sound of the crowd boo'n, and just about every sound effect you can think of sounds real. Now the music selection is well, meh. I'm not a big fan of putting pop music (or any mainstream music) into a video game like this. I remember the old Fifa's and the awesome soundtracks they had.

Gameplay: 10/10
Fifa 2003 in my opinion, was a disappointment. I never got into the game like I got into Fifa 2001 or Winning Eleven 6. The gameplay in comparison to Fifa 2003 is tremendous. It has improved 100%. F2004's controls are easy to learn and yet hard to master, making you feel like a true pro once you've attained perfection.

Replay: 10/10
Fifa 2001 was so great because you felt like you could play for hours, and in most cases you did play for hours. Fifa 2003 never gave me that feeling, I never played it for hours. Fifa 2004 feels like my old favorite, I have a feeling I'll be playing this game late into the night over the web. Another great feature this game has is it's online multiplayer feature. I have yet to try it, but if it runs like Madden or NBA Live online, I know I'll love it.

In conclusion, buy this game. Rent this game. Steal this game, well ok don't steal it, but somehow get your hands on it. It's a great game, and I know you'll play it for hours.
