The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Review by Luciandar
"This hack n' slash Lord Of The Rings is the best yet."
Lord of the Rings, Return of the king, is one of the best hack n' slash action games on the market. You play as many different characters, including Legolas, Aragorn, Gandalf, Gimli, Sam, Frodo, and 3 secret characters. That is a total of 9 characters, the 2nd lord of the Rings, Two Towers, had 4. EA games made a huge improvement on the marks of gaming history with this masterpiece. Also, please if you hate LotR please, don't read ANY further, as the review will post mostly good than bad.
Graphics 9/10
These graphics made a huge improvement of the Two Towers. Neater cutscenes, and it's not as dark as the first and second one. But don't get me wrong, LotR is still not kind-hearted. Solid 9.
Gameplay 10/10
Whammo. Here's where the fun begins. Like I said before, there is an option of nine characters, all with a wide variety of special abilities. The action is very awesome, and has great sounds to the slashes. It's very fun, and the levels have tons of enemies to slice away at. They also have three difficulties to choose from, easy, medium, and hard. Keep in mind that the controls are different from the other LotR games. Perfect score of 10.
Sound 8/10
The reason I gave it a 8 is because the music isn't all that good, but it isn't bad. The music is from Lord of the Rings movies that have just been taking into the movies, and into the game. It sounds kind of awkward if you listen hard enough. All EA games needs to do is to get better music, and they would have the perfect LotR game.
Replay Value 10/10
The replay value is really good. You can play this and beat this game consecutively and still have a good time. They also give you something special to do at the end of the game, but I won't spoil it. Solid 10.
Storyline 10/10
The storyline is different LotR. Lord Sauron has returned to destroy the world once again, and has left ultimate chaos. Many wars have broke off with the humans and the orcs, and Argorn, and his companions won't to bring the world to peace once again. I peronally, like this storyline than the other LotR. It's different, and better than others. Solid 10.
Overall 9/10
If the sound, and graphics are updated a bit more, this could have been perfect.
