"Real football is back in town."

Introduction:
Pro Evolution Soccer 3 is the third in the Pro Evolution Soccer series, if you include the ISS Pro Evolution games that tally goes up to a total of five games, all of which improved on the previous. This game though is more than just better, it is like a brand new game of a series! most things have been reworked, there's bundles of more features, its more realistic and it finally has a few licenses, all of this means it has to be a great game.

Storyline:
As its a sports game there isn't one.

Graphics:
Solid in one word but nothing on FIFA games, Pro Evolution Soccer is now a contender though with a huge improvement in the graphics department. First up are the players, they now show emotion, move more realistically. Secondly is the attention to detail, the crowd movement, the banners, players wearing bandages when they are injured and some other things such as kits on licensed teams and the faces that are more realistic than ever before, if that's not enough there is now a face builder for those 100% football maniacs.

Sound:
A reworked audio score, pitch and crowd noises, improved commentary, good special effects and good opening movie music means this has to be a high one, nothing on the crowd chants of FIFA but its a video game not a real match. The reworked audio score replaces Pro Evolution Soccer 2's annoying Queen music and that menu music with good modern pieces that fit with the environment, there is now an audio player that plays back music and there is a different score for each game mode. Pitch and crowd noises have stepped up a gear also with the crowds making realistic noises and the improved pitch effects such as a metal crashing noise when a player hits the post, it is all good. More good news, the commentary now actually makes sense with Brooking and Brackley coordinating with each other and not bringing out random sentences. The opening movie has some of the best sound ever created, it fits well with the clip and sums up football through sound, overall this games sound is outstanding.

Gameplay:
This is where Pro Evolution Soccer has always been better than any other football game, the gameplay. This time it is even better than before with more responsive, flexible controls, more fun in the match and more ease for a beginner. Firstly the control system has been tweaked with a more responsive, flexible set up, the controls remain the same but special moves are easier to execute. The fun has also been sent up with more to do and the controls defeat frustration, the game feels realistic to play and that is what matters. There is also a lot more tweaking you can do such as match options and changing your cursor name. Overall the gameplay is full of depth and is easy for a beginner or a veteran to get stuck into.

Game Time:
Solid playing, a month settles it. Winning everything takes about this long and unlocking everything is fitted in with that, a new extended Master League improves this but roughly it is no longer than its predecessors, unless of course you are a game perfectionist. A perfectionist has the job of tweaking all the dodgy licensing and players to realistic models, research may be required and this can add up to another three months of play. Buying this game is money well spent.

Extras:
A shop where you buy new stuff and a cool challenge training mode.

Final Recommendation:
This is a great game for solid gamers and football fans alike, oozes quality everywhere and is a true recommendation to anyone, a must have game.
