True Crime: Streets of LA
Review by eviltab
"Awsome Game"
Story 7/10
You play as Nick Kang, a loose cannon who has recently been released for suspension. Now working for the E.O.D (elite operations division), You must track down leads to the recent Triad crimes, while also looking for evidence of your fathers disappearance.
Graphics 9/10
Really good graphics, some of the best I've seen on a game like this. The cars are superb, lights reflect off the hood of the car. The character models are also really nice looking. The 240 square miles are detailed enough. The are some hiccups thou, such as animation breaking and such, but all in all its a game full of eye candy for the most part.
Sound 10/10
The sound track rules so much! If your a person who likes rap you will enjoy the soundtrack, there are some rock songs as well, Peace Sells by Megadeth and Poem by Taproot. You can customize the whole soundtrack in 3 different categories: Driving, Slow action, fast action. The voice acting is well done, even some of Hollywood is there. Christopher Walken, Ron Perlman, Gary Oldman and Michelle Rodriguez just to name a few. Nick has some cheesie one liners but they funny as hell.
Controls 10/10
A pick-up and play game. Easy to control fighting, driving, shooting.
Gameplay 10/10
True Crime incorporates Shooting, fighting, driving, and stealth into one nice smooth direction. One mission you could be driving to a warehouse, then you have to sneak into the warehouse then let all hell loose on the perpetrators. You could also be in a intense hand to hand combat aganist three strippers at the same time, and then have to escape the people on your tail. When not on a mission you can drive around and find 24-7 upgrade shops for Firearm upgrades (Presion Shooting, hallow point ammo). Fighting upgrades (special throws, running attacks, combos), and driving upgrades (burnout, nitro boost, drive on two wheels). Then you can explore Los Angeles solving random crimes such as: Street fights, illegal street racing, robbings, and shoot outs, not to mention arsonist flaming Eddie. 100+ missions of pure fun plus 3 different endings to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Replay 6/10
Not much to do when you get all three endings, you can search for 30 golden dogg bones to get a secret character.
Overall, its an awesome game, but it was to short. Excellent graphics, Awesome sound, and a fun as hell gameplay.
Rent or Buy
