FIFA Soccer 2004
Review by BradFelizardo
"One more shame"
Graphics _
Some players have better faces, but still that error of using the same familiar faces for a lot of players. To tell the truth, FIFA 2004 is a big shame. Look, you can even notice about some ''low resolution .gif images-like graphics'' (if you're a webmaster you know what i mean), to check out that, just try to play at night or look well in that thing which they call ''sun''. Not only that, the error of always, the stadiums, man, it's sad, in Madden you can play with snow, here in Fifa 2004 you won't find not even that odd rain of FIFA 2003, just night and day, so, you're starting to see how bad it is right? it already has things worst than 2003. Things like the replay and A.I. of the players (emotions and behavior) are well balanced with the graphics, so, the result of this is a game where you can see really great moments of football (the only cool thing about this game). But premature errors are visible in this game, still no substitution animations, ha, and they now think that we're blind! because they zoom the players during those animations or cut-scenes like someone using a magnifying glass and you probably won't know what the hell the player(s) is(are) doing running around, these are more things worst than 2003 (and 2003 was already a sucking game...).
_ GamePlay _
The free camera of replay is back, good! But i got to tell you about something, there's completely nothing new that's cool around on the game, EA Sports continues on their very ''PS2-donkeyness'' of not making the create a player/create a team feature, how can we play well without that? The portuguese league is back, but that isn't all, we need to create and edit players and teams as we wish! I got this game thinking about that, and i only see stupid features like a bad, i mean, critical attempt to create a game mode only cool in games like Championship Manager. The other only cool thing about this game is the Off Ball Control, but it's pretty stupid sometimes. The way EA rates the clubs and teams is pretty premature too, looks like they decide how to rate the teams by themselves. The menus are stupid, Fifa isn't a classic game any more, i think that the official Fifa should think about this because EA is taking down their ''reputation-style''. A lot of critical errors, the game is slow now, so it's a bit real, but you put it on amateur on the first days and you'll just don't know what to do, because it is a ''Play it easy maniac!'' difficulty rating, fitness still bad, and you probably just make most of the goals outside of the opponents grand'area because of that.
_Sound_
They made a completely unstable playlist, a critical attempt to get different musics from the whole world (gotta have experience to do that!) and the results? A very annoying playlist. A lot of la la la bla bla bla songs like Wanna Rock, Rythm Bandits, Guten Tag, a Town called M., etc, and even some punkfreak stupid songs like Ja Sei Namorar and that one from Zeca Pagodinho. But with the new amazing free cam you can enjoy great sounds like Nothing but you, Two months off, etc (damn! Can't they see that those are the type of musics for this game? My God! We're tired of buying games and always the same sucking thing! And don't even make me talk about how select a music to ear... the preview of Madden and sucessive pauses works eh?)
Man, don't get this game, there are a lot of games better and different, if you buy it, it may be fun at the beginning, but after some weeks/days you won't play it much, im sh'ure. Try things like THUG, BMX XXX 1/2, Gran Turismo 4, etc. And what i saw is enough, i won't buy any EA games anymore.
