Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future
Review by Frostbite2713
" Ever wanted to be a defender dolphin?"
I rented this game when it first came out, I liked it to a degree
This game is no vice city. As you can tell it certainly targeted the younger generation. I now own the game (mostly because I bought it for my little sister) but I still play it on occasion. Well lets break it down.
Story: The story is pretty interesting. The game is a adventure / fantasy and it definitely lives up to its title. Ok here it is you are a dolphin on a quest to defend the future and dolphins. You have special powers to fend off enemies and come captivating quests to complete. This game is definitely one of a kind. The story can be quite fun, for all ages. I give the story a... 9/10
Graphics: man Sega did a good job here. I remember the original Ecco on the Sega genesis. This game has come a long way. The amazing 3D environment simulates you particularly being in the ocean. Unreal detail. I mean you can swim up to any rock in the game and find all sorts of stuff on it, you can see fish as you swim, and when you leap out of the water the surrounding graphics are wonderful. As I have played the game I have found few if no glitches / bugs but I havennt looked into the matter too much. All I have to say is great job for the graphic designs it definitely does a lot for this game. Ill give it a... 10/10
Game play: Game play is also great, the camera controls rock and the button controls are fairly easy.
When I say fairly I mean they are unique and will take a wile to get used to, but nothing that will butcher the game for you. Over all I give it a... 9/10
Replay: This game has a lot of hours of work you will need to put into it, but once you beat it, it can get boring, but the game is a very unique game and if you really like it you will find yourself playing it. ill give the replay value a... 7/10
Rent/buy: well like all games this depends on what you want, if you want to have some fun I would suggest renting it. This game is kind of iffy if you have a young kid that likes dolphins I would buy it. But renting the game is only around 5.00 and the game is 20.00 so rent it, see if you think you will continue to play it.
Over all this is a fun childrens game nothing more.
