kill.switch
Review by Meteor5160
"A pretty good game. Nice action, but a little hard."
---Intro
Well I didn't exactly expect much from kill.switch after reading the review from Game Informer, (who gave it a 7) since their reviews usually agree with me. Well I asked for this game for Christmas and got it and saw a decent good game. Room for improvement? Yes. But none-the-less, it's still good.
---Graphics
Now I knew this game would have good graphics, and they are pretty good. This isn't the coolest part of the game, but the graphics overall are very good. The gun flashes are nice, but I'd imagine those would be hard to screw up, because the crappiest thing you could make is a little 4-point star.
Graphics: 8/10
---Sound
To me, sound isn't very important. It's nice to have, and if a game screws sound up -- well, for now let's just say that's pretty bad. Most games have good sound and this game does as well. Rain sounds cool, as well as gunfire.
Sound: 8/10
---Gameplay
Gameplay makes a game. What is a game without good gameplay? kill.switch has awesome gameplay. While not the best, you basically blind-fire or shoot around corners to get enemies. You can also run into the action, but you die somewhat easily. So your best choice is to follow what the game was made for -- to just use blind-fire. This game is really hard, even on Normal. But we all need a little challenge, right? An easy difficulty setting would be nice. You'll just have to make do with Normal or Hard.
Gameplay: 9/10
---Replay Value
Now this game is sort of short. But short and sweet. I can see that you might replay missions over and over, especially with others, but I wouldn't see any reason to replay this game. Fully. This is what hurts the game, as shooting blindly does and will get old after a little while.
Replay Value: 6/10
---Overall
Well kill.switch is an awesome game, but it definitely could be both longer and better. Sneaking should be an option, and there should be more items. I'd like to see sequel with some improvements, and an easy difficulty.
Overall: 8/10
---To Buy or Rent?
I really recommend renting this game. But, if you like Syphon Filter, this game seems similar to it. I suggest buying it if you really like shooting games with a lot of shoot outs, and games where one guy can kill 1,000 guys with just one gun. Nevertheless, kill.switch is an awesome game from start to finish, but could be longer.
