"Horribly overrated"

This review needs to be read thuroughly before buying or playing the game. Mid way has a history of horrible games, but at the same time, great games. Take Mortal Kombat, GREAT, GREAT, GREAT GAME. Take Midway Arcade Treasures, bad game. This game is ridiculously and embarrassingly overrated. First of all, the games are too hard to play even for a veteran like me. To only have 3 lives and to get very far, almost beaten the game, and to lose the last life and have to start over again is very frusturating. And it's too easy to lose lives. Take Paperboy for example. It's too easy to get hit by things. You have to be so mezmerized by the game in order to focus enough to play through it. And Spy Hunter, it is WAY too easy to wipe out and the level time is too short. People all over like this game, but I don't know why. Maybe it brings back nostalgia. But if you are 18, and didn't used to play old time arcades, then this game will do nothing for you. All of these games can be found for free online. The graphics have never been improved, the sound is lousy, the playability is... ok, and the replay value is moderately low. I know they needed to make a game like this, but they could have done it better.

The colors are brighter and the resolution is better, but they could've done better in this category.

Playability depends on the game. Paper boy has horrible controls, it is too easy to die. Spy Hunter has bad controls too. But the good thing is, they are simple. None of the controls are too hard to learn or too difficult.

Replay value med- low

I stopped playing the game before I finished any game. I just got too frusturated because it is too easy to die.

Final say: I can not say it enough, it is way too easy to die. The sound is bad, the graphics are improved, but not much, and the replay value is l9ow. If you want to play this game, then you need to rent it. It is a good rent if you have a weekend to spare, but if you want to buy a game, do not go with Midway Arcade Treasures
