High Heat Major League Baseball 2004
Review by Computerdude1032
"Excellent game with OK graphics"
In terms of gameplay this is BY FAR the best baseball game out there. But the graphics are terrible. I had this same game in except it was the 1995 version. They have not changed the menus one bit since then. The loading times are longer than they were back then. And the graphics have received very little tweaks since then. Dont get me wrong, this is my favorite baseball game, but it was very cheaply made.
Audio (2/10)
This is by far the worst part of the game. After playing two games you have heard everything the announcers have to say. The crowd claps for every run weather you are the home team or visiting. The announcers are also very choppy for example they say ''another win for the'' (2 second break) ''yankees''
Graphics (4/10)
This is the second worst part of the game. The players graphics are excellent. The audience is completly 2-D. They put a lot of work into the audience making them move smoolthy, so I cannot figure out for the life of me why they would not just make them 3-D. Also, whenever a player catches a ball they land exactly the same way.
Gameplay (11/10)
There is not enough I can say about the game here. The AI is so real you think you are playing a real person. They make mistakes once and a while, but always seem to be a step ahead of what you would expect from the AI. The players you expect to run fast run fast. The players you expect to strike out a lot strike out a lot. I could go on and on forever, there is NOTHING bad about the gameplay in this game, which is why I gave it an 11/10.
Other (8/10)
In the instruction manual it says creating players is located on page 22. It is really located on page 27. I dont know who created this, but they should have proofread it. The roster updates would be great if they ever released any. The create a player option is sweet, but there is a bug not allowing you to create pitchers.
The creaters of this game put lots of attention into the things that make a game inmortant such as the gameplay, but in order to play this game I have to have it muted. I hope that in 2005 they improve the graphics and audio. I have rented all the baseball games, and this is BY FAR the best one out there. If you are more into graphics that gameplay I would recommend MVP baseball 2004 by electronic arts, but for everyone else buy this.
