Conflict Zone

"A game like no other"

Conflict Zone is a game I bought by mistake thinking it was Conflict: Desert Storm. When I first turned on the game I was shocked and disappointed and pretty much laughed at by my buddies when they saw the game. But the game turned out different then I expected.

First, its a game that takes a long time to get down perfectly because there are so many things you need to learn about the game. Each unit in your army has several special attributes about them that you'll find out as you progress in the game.

Next are the missions. I personally being a person that loves to be in control of things felt a little compressed into a basic storyline in this game. You had objectives that kinda got repetative i.e. take over the enemies camp and save V.I.P.'s or civilians. And the enemies camp or army always had way better technology than you do when your playing as the I.C.P. or the bad guys. Which is a good attribute about this game cause you can take the role of the good or bad guy.

The thing about this game that makes it a great RTS game is the skirmishes. That is what I fell in love with. You can build your own base and go to war with another. Then when you defeat the enemy base you can assign different generals to safeguard the base or attack other bases in coalition with you. The amount of units you can control in this game range from a mechanic to a missile launcher each having a vital role in taking over a base.

If your a person like me who likes to command an army and go to war using stategies and using every possible way and tool to win then this game is right up your alley. This the type of game you'll love or hate.

The graphics are not all that great and music does get repatitive, sometimes the music even shuts off by itself. And the only way to win at this game without going to war with your PS2 is to cheat, but beware because when you cheat the enemy cheats as well and he's very smart in which tactic to use so just be warned. The difficulty in this game is insane.

One more great feature about this game is that when you build up your base to tyrant like proportions with advanced everything with war hero status you can but another general on your side in charge and see how well he/she does. Each general has there own personalities, some like bloodshed and some like saving civilains with the least amount of bloodshed possible.

To sum it all up about Conflict Zone, its a game that makes you think before sending your men into war. It makes you think what strategy to use and what general is on your side and what his plans are for attack. The greatest thing about this game is ordering all your men to fight at one time and see them charge into the enemies base and watch the battle begin and when you finally take over the base you been fighting for hours or even weeks the feeling you get when take over the base makes this game a great game and thats why I gave it an 8/10.
