"To kill a rabbit"

Whiplash is a tale of a mutated and indestructible rabbit who goes by the name of Redmond, and who is chained to a weasel going by the name of Spanx. These two bizarre creatures are trapped inside Genron, a multinational company who tests its products on animals. You control Spanx, and are trying to escape from Genron. As you are doing so, you must also destroy as much of the company as you can, and free as many animals as you can. From this simple storyline a game is now born.

The graphics of this game are pretty good, but perfectible. They do have a very humorous, cartoon touch, which reflects the humorous aspect of the game. The colors are well chosen, and they create a fun environment to play in. However, there are a lot of problems concerning aliasing. Also, there are a LOT of glitches and bugs in the last two thirds of the game. They are so numerous that sometimes, they might cause you to lose a life or to have to restart a platform sequence which you had just spent a couple of hours on.

The gameplay of Whiplash is probably the worst part of the game. The controls of the game are instinctive, but the computer doesn't always do what you tell it to do. What's more, the numerous bugs in the game really make it had to play at certain points. There are some problems with the camera, and some platform sequences will make you want to rip your hair off. Finally, some rails are made to look like you are supposed to grind them when you are supposed to hang on them, and vice versa. That could keep an average player stuck for quite some time. The one good thing about the gameplay is that it is very amusing to hurt the rabbit, and the humor will make you want to play on.

The lifespan, fortunately, is pretty good. It takes around twenty to twenty five hours to finish the game at 100 percent. Yet even here, the game has flaws. If you do play the game for so long, then it's probably because you got lost at some point of the game (I know I did, and a couple of my friends who own the game did too). If that happens, it could take you over an hour to get back on track. Also, due to the EXTREMELY ANNOYING platform sequences, you will not play this game after having finished it.

Overall, even though this game has numerous flaws, and it doesn't really have anything particularly good about it, it is still a pretty good game. Without being a classic, this game is still something most people should have in their collection because of its actually funny humor, and because of the amount of fun you will have destroying everything around you.
