Cabela's Dangerous Hunts
Review by Kain vs Raziel
"Looks like the gun misfired!"
This game is a flop! Not all the things work, and the animals don’t move around enough. This is my first time playing a hunting game, so I have nothing to reflect this game on.
Gameplay 5/10
This is where I encountered most of the problems.
Items: Not all the items seemed to work the right way. I tried using the meet, I waited 56 minutes before one of the three wolves came into the area.(I had the wind headed the right direction too.) The blinds, tree stands, and ladder seat did not work also. While in the blind the animal would see me and run off. The tree stands and ladder seat gave me an aerial view, which sometimes did not face the way I wanted it to. The calls did not seem to work either. Out of all the testing I did, I was only able to draw an Elk close twice. The fake animals always seemed to scare off the animals. (Yes I did match season colors, seasonal behavior, and calls/noises/scents.) The only thing that seem to work was the spray that takes away human scent. I tested with it a lot, and it seemed that I could get closer to the animal with it on, than with it off. I also could not get the deer feeder to work. No matter what distance I tried it did not work.
Weapons: The weapons seem to work fine, and I have to say that I loved the bullet cam.
Controls: The controls were easy, and did not hinder the Gameplay.
Vehicles: The snowmobile and ATV were okay, but the ATV seem to flip to easily.
The animal: The animal were vary annoying! Most of the game animals seem to stay in the same spot for a long, long time. I tried calls, scents, and all sorts of things, but never really got any animals to come in my direction.
If they make another game, they need to do better in this section.
Graphics 9/10
The graphics were the one thing that they did a good job with. It is not the best, but for its genre, it is pretty good. The scenery was pretty good, and the animals were pretty well detailed.
Sound 8/10
It sounded alright, no music or city noise, just the great outdoors.
Story (no rate)
This game does not have an ongoing story, but for the missions it has a “semi-story” that tells you what you have to do.
Lifespan 4/10
Maybe it is just me, but this game is a one time thrill. Once I played it, I was done. I also will probably never play a hunting game ever again.
Buyability 2/10
This is not a game you want to buy; this is a game you want to rent. If you want to beat it, then you should probably get it for at least 3-4 days. (this varies due to age and experience)
Overall 6/10
This is not the best that I have seen, but it is not the worst either. They just need to fix a few things and the game should do fine.
