The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2

"This is pure perfection for the die-hard Metal Gear fans."

Since there is not a playable part besides the VR missions, which are really just a demo of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. I will be explaining all the parts of this ''game''.

Characters: 7/10

This is just a showing of all the character models in the game. The regular stuff isn't all that cool. It's the stuff that wasn't released into the game that is. Like say, the early model of Raiden and Vamp. Cell-shaded Mei Ling. Stuff like that earned the 7. Without it this would of been a 3.

Mechanics: 9/10

This is the just like the Characters, just 3 times better. There is alot more cool factor in looking at the mechs in the game then the people. This thing could of gotten a 6 if all it had was the Metal Gear Rex, Hind D, and the M1 tank.

Background: 10/10

This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. You can get up close detail of all the levels, see stuff you've never seen before. All that crazy cool stuff. There are unused backgrounds too. Also, the heliport from MGS1.

Polygon Demos: 6/10

This could of been a lot cooler if the controls where not as screwed up as they are here. It's fun at first, but looses it's novelty fast.

Program: 2/10

Now I'm sorry, but I couldn't understand a thing they where talking about in here. I have no programming background so I didn't find it interesting at all. But if you you have a background, by all means enjoy this.

Sound: 8/10

This is great, the whole soundtrack of the games areas. You can switch between the different modes. Alert, evasion, caution, the things like that. It truly is a wonderful feature.

Game Plan: 0/10

It's in full Japanese. I don't know what it says, but I hear it's the best part of the disk...

Script: 10/10

To me, this is the best part of the game. This is the script of the game. With added details from Hideo explaining things in more depth. You WILL understand the story more if you read this.

Staff: 2/10

It's like reading credits. Nothing really interesting here.

Chronicle: 8/10

Find out when and where things happened in the time MGS2 was made. It's amazing that as soon as Metal Gear Solid for PS1 was released, Metal Gear Solid 2 was in the making.

Special Footage: 8/10

Like an hour of the Trailers and videos that they used. It is amazing to see how the game turned out compared to these early videos.

Items: 5/10

The coolest thing I think here was seeing the cases of MGS and MGS2 in the other areas of the world.

Overall: 8/10

This DVD will provide you will a ton of stuff that you will think is cool if you are a big fan of the game.
