MVP Baseball 2004

"Fine details makes for a fine game."

There is a new king in town, and its name is MVP baseball 2004. EA put alot of heart and soul into this one, and folks you will not be dissapointed! This is by far the best baseball game of all time, hands down.
The most stunning thing about the game is the minute attention to detail. The realism in the most miniscule of things. A gander into the crowd as the batter walks up and you can notice someone in the crowd leaning over to talk to someone next to them. But what sold me on the absolute care to detail is something I noticed. The backup catcher on the Yankees doesn't use a traditional mask and batters helmet. He uses a one piece helmet with the interlocking NY on it, and what did I see when I put him in? You guessed it the same helmet on his EA replication. The announcers are very colorful and even amusing at times.
The players faces are very realistic and they even included managers faces in it. When Terry Francona or Joe Torre come out of the dugout, you can actually recognize them.Instead of the nondescript ''average joe man'' in other games. There are many modes of play from exhibition to pitching duels.
You can earn points by doing tasks (Hitting 2 homers in a game, no hitters etc) and spend them on retro jerseys , classic stadiums, classic players, even classic teams. Once you unlock a player you can put them on your team. Ever wonder if Tom Seaver will strike out A-Rod? Unlock him and find out! Ever want to play in a Yankees and Mets shootout at the old Polo grounds, got that too. You miss the astrodome or old Tiger stadium? This is your game!
Play in a dynasty and control not only your big club, but AAA and AA clubs also. You do bad, no sweat..You got 120 years to get it right making the replay value astronomical. Sick of beating up on the computer or your friends? Play online with the best in the world and see if your up to par.
All in all, if you love baseball and consider yourself a purist as I do, then this is the game for you. There nothing on the market like it and by far not a waste of 45$
