Siren

"Siren is not a bad game, but only good for a rental"

I'm a big fan of survival horror games from Silent Hill series, Fatal Frame, and Resident Evil(Bio Hazard) So I decided to pick up this game and see if I would like it. To my surprise, the game is actually fun to play.. but still doesn't compare to the big hitters.

Story The story isn't bad at all, probably another positive side of the entire game. Tho it does lack in details in places and doesn't fill it in

Graphics I'll split this up into two categories, the enviroment and the characters itself. overall on the graphic department it feels pretty bland like a wannabe...nothing special..

Environment I think the enviroment is dark and creepy with well detailed objects around the character. It definitely could best match itself with the big hitter such as Silent Hill.

Character The character I feel is pretty boring and bland, it feels like they took a regular model and placed photographs on that model, it doesn't fit...
The faces on the character model seems very flat and one dimensional, while the movement is slow and flawed.

Gameplay Ok, This is probably one of the best parts of the entire game. The game goes through by a time line and you play each time line accomplishing a certain goal, your character doesn't have any weapons except for logic, quick thinking, and maybe... a special technique called sightjack that can hijack other character's vision and see through their eyes. very useful for sneaking around places.

Sound/Music I was disappointed in the lack of japanese audio in this game, these guys are japanese actors or models for the game. They should be given japanese voices and not british voices. nevertheless the acting is still pretty good at some parts and really doesn't fit in other parts. But the game has very detailed sound like the heavy panting of your main character after taking 5 steps.

Replay Value I really don't have the urge to play the game again, after you beat it.. there's really nothing to look for or accomplish.

Rent or Buy
Rent definitely only a rental, not worth buying at all.
