Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Review by TrueGamer104
"A game where using your mind wont hurt."
Introduction- Well to put it simply, I thought this game was going to be a major bummer. You know, one of those games that builds up your expectations and when you play it, highly disappoints you. Then after finally playing it, letting your expectations down is something this game will not do.
Story- You assume the role of Nick Scryer, a man who is one of Psi-Ops elite. You eventually but slowly regain your outstanding powers in a timely manner slowly working your way to uncover the truth. But when it comes to truth, that is obviously yours to discover. The story sits on a solid foundation only because it's not as predictable as you think.
Game play- The game play can probably be summed up in 2 words. VERY COOL. A game that after a few minutes of game play you will realize it differs from all the rest. It's something new, fresh, and hasn't been done a thousand times before. And what makes this game so different from all the rest is the abilities you possess in the game that make this so very possible. Telekinesis (TK) for example is used often in the game and becomes your second weapon. Everything in the environments can be lifted or thrown as well as enemies which breaks the game. It also makes things you can do with it endless because of all the open possibilities. You also earn a few other abilities I need not say because it would be giving away to much. Asides from the abilities (psi powers) The game is very fluid and smooth. Especially for an innovative game such as this.
Graphics- The graphics is one of this games main strong points. Everything in the environment is vivid and draws you right in. The graphics are so good where you will be looking in awe at the smaller things such as water reflections on the walls. They are wholesome and down to the smallest detail. Each area is alive and looks crisp, the graphics department has no problems whatsoever (The Video's Are AWESOME!!) .
Sounds-First of all the game has a really nice score, nothing spectacular but also nothing to complain about. The environmental sound effects are refreshing and nothing mind numbing repetitive.
Controls- The controls are basic and there are training sessions in-game so you can get used to the controls without being just thrown in combat without knowing what to push. They are also very easy to get used to, a game in which the controls become second nature. Everything else is a cake walk....or maybe not!
Rent Or Buy/Replay Value- When it comes to renting or buying this game I highly suggest you to buy. It is well worth your penny and your effort. The game pays off and shines with a light that will stay lit in good time. The replay value on this game is extremely high, and half way through the game you are already planning the next playthrough.
Final Thought- Well that is every category covered to the best of my knowledge. I hope this helps you decide on whether or not you want this game. If you do get it I hope you like it yet with a game this good you can't go wrong!!
-Happy Gaming
