EyeToy: Play

"Get ready for something whole new!"

~ Introduction ~

I'll split this review in two pieces. The Eyetoy Camera and the Eyetoy: Play game.

~ The Eyetoy ~ 8/10

The eyetoy itself isn't a game, it's just a simple camera. It has a movement sensor in it and a light detector. It's very flexibel and you can turn the lens a little so you can sharpen the image on your tv screen. Most people don't know the eyetoy camera has a microphone. If you do not have a webcam you can always use the eyetoy as one! You just need the right drivers.
The graphics that can be shown with the eyetoy are pretty good but not as good as a webcam from $150 or something. The sensor works nice when the room you're in isn't too dark. Stand 1 to 2 metres from the eyetoy camera and make sure you have enough room to move your body.

~ Game Play ~ 9/10

Move your arms legs, body and head to play the games, you do not need any controllers for this game, all buttons will work when you wave your hand on it.
There are several games:

~ Beat Freak ~ 9/10

This is like eyetoy groove, move your arms on the right speaker on the right time. When you hit the speakers when the cd is floating just in the middle you'll get the most points. In Beat Freak you have some cool songs you can dance on. This game is cool to play alone but it's more fun to play it with friends.

~ Kung Fu ~ 10 /10

This is one of the best games on eyetoy: Play.
Hit the thieves, ninjas, enemies on clouds before they can hit you, the funny thing is the Kaboom, blam, woosh, boink and so on, those great sounds make this a very funny game. After every 2 rounds I think you'll get a bonus round where you need to break the bullseye boards.

~ Wishi Washi ~ 9/10

Ever had a little job cleaning windows from cars at a traffic light or at somebody's home? Well if you haven't or you do not want to leave your house can play wishi washi, you need to clean windows to pay the bill. Swing with your arms as much as you can to clean the windows. Sometimes red arrows will appear on the screen to mark where you need to clean some more.

~ Keep ups ~ 8/10

This game is hard! You need to use your head to keep a football in the air. After a while enemies will pop out of the window and you need to hit them with the ball but becareful that the ball doesn't drop off the screen below because you'll hear glass break and you lose a level.

~ Boxing Chump ~ 9/10

Like boxing? Like to kick some robots in the face? Now is your chance! In boxing chump you need to fight against some robot. Hit him as much as you can but dodge his attacks too. After a while the second round wil begin, between the rounds there are some breaks too if you want to catch a breath.

~ UFO Juggler ~ 8/10

This is an OK game. You have to launch UFO's in space but be careful you don't launch them oo fast or too slow!

~ Slap Stream ~ 9/10

Yay, slap some rats, and other enemies but be careful not hitting the lovely bunnygirls. There are four clouds where they appear, you can hit 3 bunnygirls after that you're game over!

~ Splate Spinner ~ 7/10

The least funny game of them all, you only need to wave your arms over the boards so they don't fall. You also have to hit the monkeys so they won't throw your boards of the vine.

~ Boogie Down ~ 8/10

I don't really understand what to do but the point is doing what the lady does. She does her turn after she showed what lights you need to hit it's your turn and try to do it as good as her, or something like that 0_o.

~ Ghost Catcher ~ 9/10

Hit the ghosts and bats but be careful of Wonton.

~ Mirror Time ~ 8/10

Cool, but very confusing. You need to hit the green faces and try not to hit the red ones. A robot will pull a lever sometime so you'll be upside down or mirrored!

~ Rocket Rumble ~ 9/10

Fireworks! When they are in the air you need to select them and let them explode by pushing the two levers on the bottom of the screen.

Well, that were all the games, now the other things Eyetoy: Play has to offer.

- Video Conversation : You can record a message from yourself with audio on your memory card and play it by your friends (they need play too).

- Playroom : Here you can chill out. Do something funny.

~ Graphics ~ 9/10

Most of the time you're the main character, ... every time you're the main character XD. The backgrounds and other things look very cool.

~ Story ~ */10

Nope not here.

~ Play Time & Replay Value ~ 10/10

You can keep playing them, it's just endless fun!

~ Overall ~ 9/10

A new and good idea from London Studios to make an eyetoy with some cool games!

Rent or Buy - Buy and buy those other games like groove and singstar too.
