Star Wars Bounty Hunter
Review by SplinterSpider
"A good shoot'em up + Star Wars = Pretty Nicely Done Game... Period."
Introduction:
Now I was impressed with this game, some of the Star Wars games are slowly urging to become horrible. This game brought back a good sense that some game where going right! It takes place with you playing Jango Fett in a third person view, blowing up baddies and taking in bounties... So now, on to the review.
Graphics 9/10
The graphics surprised me here! Amazing top quality, I often found myself staring at Jango for hours just to see the detail. The baddies are pretty nice too, if you look on your sensor and zoom up, you see them articulated quite well. My big issue with the graphics was the walls and buildings looked quite a bit LESS then the people, but that was my only problem. The cinematics were great, articulated to the point that I sometimes wondered whether they were form the movie.
Controls 10/10
Beautiful controls, you have crouching, rolling, shooting, etc. Controls that let you control the action. Glitches with the controls for me only included the one odd thing that, you have to continuously press Square to shoot rapidly, and if you just hold it down you shoot about once every time you have read this review.
Sounds 8/10
Sounds where good, repetitive voices could be heard throughout lots of levels, but other then that, I found this game had the right sounds for the right moments, but still, the music at times got repetitive the game only has four maybe five song thingies in total. Voices where nice, I didn't hear anything that sounded half bad.
Gameplay 7/10-8/10
Ack, here is where the game kind of lacks, glitches in AI had some of my enemies standing there while I launched in to the air and pummeled them from above where some barely ever even shot. Moving is easy to be done, jumping and crouching as well. Firing was simple and switching weapons was simplier, having no big problem with that. What got me was that after 40 minutes of playing straight, this game got kind of boring, because all you did was shoot'em up and then run off, often using your jet pack. The Bounty system brought this game higher for me, being able to basically search an destroy, mark your bounties, and kill or capture them, gave this game a bit more to me. If you don't mind classic shoot'em ups give Gameplay an 8/10.
Replay Value 7/10
Even this game has a fair replay value, I often find secrets and things I didn't know about just popping up randomly, interesting.
Final Verdict 8/10-9/10
Okay, a great game aside from the repetition of gameplay, no big glitches that really degrade the game play, more weapons and some type of multiplayer would've been nice though. If you don't mind the classic shoot'em up, give this game a 9/10, I do which is why I am gonna give it an 8/10
