"This game is terminated"

Story 10/10

John Connor leads humans to victory against the machines. Skynet a miltary defense computer which failed two times by first sending a T-800 back to kill Sarah Connor in 1984. It failed due to interference from Kyle Reese. In 1995, It sends a liquid metal terminator called T-1000. It failed due through interfrnece from a reprogrammed T-800 sent by John. Sarah and John blows up cyberdyne thought to have stopped Judgement day. They were wrong it only was postponed. Skynet sends a T-800 one like the one that protected John as a child to kill him in the present. It succeeds and Kate Brewster who is 2nd in command captures the cyborg and reprogram it to protect her, John, and his lieutenants in the past from a new TX model sent by skynet to kill the targets and make sure the rise of the machines happen.

Gameplay 3/10

You get to play as arnold the T-800. You play in the future and in the past. You get the best guns in the future such as plasma rifles and in the past regular guns such as a gatling gun. The first part of the game is played in the future you have to complete objectives such as protecting people or eliminating all of the tks. You have to get to the time displacment machine and travel to the past. Once you get to the past the game follows the movie. I was dissapointed. You don't control much from the movie. Like the chase scene. You can;t drive any cars but only fight the TX with fist moves and kicks and grab moves.

Controls 8/10

The controls are ok but could be better

Sound/Music 7/10

You here the movie theme during the title screen. The sound from the guns could have been better.

Graphics 6/10

These are first generation graphics. Only the cutscenes look decent. The gameplay looks only average.

Features 8/10

There are two atari games you get to play which are centipede and missle command. There is a demo of redemption which is better than the whole game rise of the machines. I spent more time on the demo than the actual game. You can also watch scenses from the movie and movies from the game.

Overall

buy or rent. I say rent. I was a fan of the movies and paid $17. I thought all the bad reviews were wrong. If maganize or internet site gives a game a score 1 out of 10 or 2 out of 5 then it has to be a bad game.
