"Slightly Shaken"

AvP Extinction is very original and innovated, but falls short in a couple of aspects.

GamePlay: To be perfectly honest the Game is incredibly fun and challenging. The controls are easy to figure out and manipulate. People's main misconception with the controls is that the game is not made for multi-tasking between troops, which is a big disappointment and gives you less control over your situation. Which means you can't program one group to perform a simplistic task while completing more precise complicated missions with your main controls. You constantly move as one unit while your base stays behind open for attack, unless you set up rather useless AI near it. Other than its minor flaws the game plays smoothly and has an original feel that you won't necessarily get with any other RTS. 8.0

Graphics: The Graphics are not orgasmic or any thing, but they get the job done. And the character sprites are rather sleek up close. 7.0

Sound: Effects are awesome, and music is scarce, I wish I had like some intense music during huge battles, but I was usually left with only sound effects. 7.0

Storyline: Before each mission, you are briefed on why you are doing what you're about to do, not much depth but enough to keep you aware of what is going on. 8.0

Re-play Value: Ok this is where a lot of people hate the game, No multi player, No Online support, No nothing. Grant it this game would be much, much, sweeter if it had online support. But it doesn't. What is rather fun is the cheat menu. I beat the game on all difficulties and was left with nothing. But using the cheat menu can be rather entertaining, just watching your troops annihilate the other giving you the opportunity to view the battle from different angels. Also something interesting about the cheat menu, to access it you play a paradiddle on the r1 and l1 buttons. 8.0

This game is slightly above average. Very fun and Frustratingly challenging on harder difficulties, one due to the lack of control over the troops, But besides that this game is just as good, and even better, than most.
