All-Star Baseball 2005
Review by MrFrost1980
"A hard hitting solid baseball game."
Game play: 7/10
The over all game play for ASB 05 is some of the best you will come by though you will find yourself in a pickle from time to time. It'll happen more then once in a season, you'll have a runner or two on base and you just clocked a fly ball plenty to send a runner home but due to annoying controls for base stealing/running you'll find your self with both runners ( or more ) making their way toward home ( or any base you happen to want ) and anyone who knows baseball knows that you cant have two men on base but the problem is that once a man is on base... well he is on base and it is a pain to get them to return to a empty base. Now the pitching is a lot better in 05 then any other ASB i have played you can strike the computer out much more often so that add a lot to the game where there was nothing before. The camera views are the best by far then any game on the market if you ask me and you have much to choose from, not only that the record books add a lot to the game as well though it would have been nice to cut the season down a little 160 some games is a lot to play but they are no more then 1/2 hour to 45 Min's long. Also the Auto for this game is bad.. real bad it can screw up your line ups and pitching staff plenty through out a seasons so keep an close eye when the computer does something " for you".Other then that this game is much like 04 and 03.
Audio/Video: 7/10
Well there isn't very much to be said on this subject that has not ever been said before for any of the older ASB games. The graphics are nice nothing top of the line and there are plenty of faces and what not to choose from when making your own character/player. The audio in this game is alright as well but you will find yourself wishing the announcers would shut up once and a while and they really enjoy repeating themselves though out the game.
Re playability: 9/10
Plenty of reasons to play this game over and over, such as the record books ( hunting for those records really add to this game ) , watching you players grow each season as you places points you gain through out the season into their stats and best of all this game goes for 20 seasons thats quite a lot of games to be played so you'll be busy. Also their is plenty of extras in this game like ASB Challenge, On line Play and Updated Rosters just to name a few.
Buy or Rent?: BUY
This is simple buy the game you'll never get everything done just for renting it for a few weeks.
