Viewtiful Joe

"Life is VIEW-tiful!"

Story:
Joe is on a movie date with his girl, Silvia, when all of a sudden the movie bad guys grab Silvia right out of the screen. Joe tries to save her, but he got sucked into the movie as well. And so, as Joe, it is your duty to rescue Silvia!

Review:

This is one of the best games I have ever played. The gameplay isn't only the strongpoint with this game. These cel-shaded graphics could easily make your jaw drop! This game also has a unique "VFX" which means: Viewtiful Effects. You can slow down time, use mach speed, and zoom in to defeat your enemies. You can also unlock Dante from "Devil May Cry". There's also a new easy mode.

Gameplay: 9.5/10
This game is a 2d/3d Action game. So you move from left to right. You can punch, kick, and do all sorts of moves like throwing a boomerang. In order to beat the game you must use your VFX powers with your punches and kicks to make it easier for you. You also need to use VFX to solve puzzles. The gameplay is very easy to learn. The gameplay is the 2nd best part of this game.

Graphics: 10/10
The graphics are stunning! They are "Viewtiful"! Especially when you are using your VFX powers.The moves are very fluid. The graphics are the best part of the game. The crisp visuals make this game AWESOME! I did not know cel-shaded games could look this good! When in Slo-Motion mode, it reminds me of The Matrix.

Sound:8/10
The sound is alright. The voice-acting is good. I can clearly hear the bosses and Joe when they are having a conversation, so I guess the sound is good.

Replay Value: 9.5/10
It will take a few tries to unlock everyone. There are a total of 4 characters to unlock. Dante, Silvia, Captain Blue, and that one guy. I forgot his name but I think it started with an "A". You can also try to get all Rainbow V's in all of the levels so you can use VFX without it having to run out.

Overall, this game is very fun to play. So should you rent it or buy it? I suggest you buy it. Come on, it's only $29.99. When it was on the Gamecube, wasn't it 49.99? So go on, don't miss out on an incredible game like this. It's a must-have in my book.
