Ghosthunter

"A Ghastly good adventure"
Introduction: When you go to play Ghost Hunter don't think I'm playing a not so scary horror game but rather that I'm playing a good action game with a decent amount of spookiness in it to keep it Ghostly.
Graphics: The graphics really surprised me in a good way. When I had a first glimpse of Ghost Hunter, I didn't think much and it didn't look to impressive graphics wise. Boy was I wrong. The graphics though still not the best we have seen on ps2 are still over the average for games out there. The facial expressions seem obvious that they spent a lot of work on them and it pays off. The backgrounds though not as good as the character models are still pretty decent.
Graphics: 8/10
Game play: Ghost Hunters game play is quite unique and enjoyable. You basically hunt ghosts about that's only the half of it. There's terrain you must explore and puzzles to solve, there's a lot more involved then just your average shooter. The action also is quite good, you have a ghost grenade which basically sucks the ghost up (a la Ghostbusters) when it's weak which may seem like its ripping of Ghostbusters but it does it in a new kinda way.
Gameplay: 8/10
Story: The story as well surprised me pleasantly. The cut scenes are well done and the voice acting is over the top with seriousness blended in with humor and really makes you want to watch the cut scenes as much as you want to play the game. Basically you're a cop who goes to investigate murders at a school and stumble upon these machine holding tons of ghost, you accidentally free them and it is now your obligation to get them all back.
Story: 9/10
Sound: The sound was nothing special but still was pretty average. The sound effects were good and well done. The only thing that bothered me was the music. At some points the music seems out of place and on a never ending short loop. It even cut out entirely at some points which wasn't too good either. Besides that it was fine
Sound: 6/10
Replay Value: When you're done you're done. Not to much replay value unless you enjoy going through it again. Which isn't that bad an idea because the games really enjoyable.
Replay: 5/10
Conclusion: A great surprise, a great ghost filled adventure, a great game. If you're not to such as I was then I suggest renting, but if you want a solid action with very little repetitiveness, a good story and a little creepiness then this is your game.
Overall: 8/10
