"Tom Clancy does it again!"

Well, being the kind of person that plays the sequels before the original, I decided to get Rainbow Six 3. And after playing this really cool game, I decided to make a review. So here it is.

Gameplay: 8/10

Like some other FPS games, RS3 has a lot of action and objectives. You get tons of gun and grenade choices, and the missions have some originality. Your teammates, though, are slow when it comes to orders. Telling them to move is a pain, because they usually walk in circles before they actually get to their destination, where the terrorists have already stormed into.

Story: 9/10

Playing the game is like making the story unfold. You're Domingo 'Ding' Chavez, and your counter-terrorist buddies are Price, Louiselle, and Weber. Apparently, there's an oil embargo but Venezuela is still shipping oil to the U.S. and the terrorists kinda didn't like that. So, being all terrorizing and whatnot, they've taken a few hostages, planted a few bombs, that normal stuff. So it's up to you and your team to undo the terrorists' plan.

Graphics: 5/10

The graphics aren't exactly pushing the PS2 to its full potential. The guns' textures are bending toward the PS1 level, and all of the enemies you fight have fixed face expressions. (Imagine, you just shot some guy who even smiles and has life in his eyes after death.) But otherwise, the buildings and furniture are pretty good.

Sound: 6/10

There's not too much music, but when there is it's actually pretty nice. It's almost like there's a live band being held hostage up on the roof =). The gun sounds are somewhat similar but still have a different ring for each one. Your teammates voices are clear and crisp, and you're actually able to understand them. In stereo it's much better, because you can tell where you're being attacked from.

Multiplayer: 5/10

Multiplayer is much better than the single-player aspect of the game. There's always more people to play with, and there's strategy involved. Oh, and the fact that the people aren't always the same as mindless AI.

Replayability: 4/10

Although there are many different ways to kill terrorists, there's no point in doing all the levels again, even on different difficulties. The terrorists are still mindless and in the same spots as before, so there's no surprise. You know what to expect. Multiplayer, on the other hand, adds to the replay value.

BUY or RENT?:

I'd rent it if you don't like repetitive terrorist murdering. But buy it if you're a Clancy fan. It's worth it.

In a nutshell: Pretty fun. I have seen a few better games but none of them quite mix the action and stealth together like this one. (Except for Splinter Cell, maybe.) =)

OVERALL SCORE - 7/10
