Dance Dance Revolution Extreme
Review by Hamster120
"New Appearance and New Songs means great DDR fun!"
Graphics: The graphics are the same as in DDR Max and DDR Max 2. You will see the familiar freeze notes, 8th notes, and quarter notes as in the other games. You will see the same random pictures going on in the background. Not much change in the background. One of features that this game has that the previous games do not have are computer generated life like figures in the background that accually open and close their mouth in approite ways to make it look like they are singing. These are very cool and are 3-D. Players may also be refreshed by the new song selection layout screen and the ability to choose a dancer each time you play without going and pre-selecting it in the options section of the game. The music videos are good but, in my opinion, not as good as the videos in DDR Max 2
New Features: This game may be played with the Eye Toy camera in Party Mode. There are a selection of mini-games and versus games for two players. There is also a new mode called Mission Mode. In this mode you must complete a specified instruction through part of a song. (For example, one instruction might be, hit every third note in the song) If you mess up, you must start over again.
Sound: This mix has well known songs such as "Y.M.C.A", "Diving", "Move Your Feet", and "Kids In America". It is very refreshing group of songs in general. I am very pleased that Konami finally realized that no one really likes songs with Japanesse words and is putting a larger amount of American licenced songs in the game. Captain Jack fans might be a little mad that the only song by Captain Jack in this mix is "Only You". Dancer who are great fans of DJ Taka will be delighted with DDR Extreme because it contains more than four DJ Taka songs. This mix also has remakes of the popular songs "Ladies' Night" and "Believe".
