"Weak, but not so much where it kills it."

Not a bad port for a DDR game. the control is responsive as it has been in the last two installments of the game. However, the fact that Konami consistently puts more and more American music bugs me. For example, Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody does NOT belong in this game. Very few of the original tracks aren't in the game, as I think they should be.

Graphics:
What can I say, it's DDR. there's not much to say here

Sound: 8/10
This is probably the most important part. The sound is crisp and clear. DVD perfect quality, 24-bit sound. The thing that gets me, however, is the song selection. I played this game at a friends house, and I rented it for a week. The thing that's preventing me from buying it is the song list. It's too Americanized, and it takes away from the feel of the original DDR typical music. I was almost insulted.

Control: 9/10
The response to the control is great. Everything's there. The thing that took a point, however, is the slightly longer input timing that Konami's been putting into the games, as compared to the arcade versions. So getting that triple A isn't as hard at home, as it is in the arcade. I'm an arcade perfectionist when it comes to all games, so it's no wonder that I would seek perfection for this as well.

Fun: 8/10
DDR is always fun, but I don't like the new sound track. it's a lot weaker than normally, and it's no wonder why a gamer like me would dislike it. I'm an arcade perfectionist, and the amount of non-arcade songs or U.S. PS2 port only songs hinders that for me. But DDR is still DDR, and it's always fun. The mini games are a great bonus too.

Extras: 7/10
The extras like story mode are great. The integration of the eyetoy is interesting as well, but neither really stand out as being astonishing. Nothing gone unappreciated, however, since they are neat little extras and they do add somewhat to the replay value.

Packaging:
Can't comment here, since I've never actually handled the original packaging. Only rental usage.

Overall: 7/10
Not a bad game. The song list here is what really took points away for me. Max and Max 2 both got 9s, and this would have too, but I couldn't seeing how a lot of my DDR classic favorites weren't included.
