DDRMAX2 Dance Dance Revolution
Review by Furry Fire Moomba
"Everybody Dance Dance!"
Now, this is one of the very few games which you don't use your hands pressing buttons. In this game you must move your feet. Sound easy? Well, think again. This is one of the hardest games on the PS2! This review is made up of what I think of the game. If you don't agree with me, oh well.
This game has to be played with a DDR dance pad. you cannot use a controller or you'll lose before you start. If your good at dancing and have fast reflexes, this game will be easier than if you don't.
Graphics: 5/10
If you ask "5/10!? are you crazy? this is for the PS2 and it should have good graphics!" you will find out why. This is a cell-shaded game, like Viewtiful Joe and The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker. The only cell shaded parts are the people, everything else is a dark blue or an orange. The arrows aren't cell-shaded, they look more like pixels out of everything.
Game play: 9/10
This is one of the most original games on the PS2. Most others are remakes or traditional RPG, Action, or shooters. you must dance, hence the name. You get to choose your music, instead of keep listening to songs you don't like. This game also can be exercise, as it has a built in workout mode.
Sound: 10/10!
This has the best music. It comes with about 20 songs at the beginning, and more become unlocked as you progress and dance through the game. You get to choose you songs, and with so many to choose from, you'll be dancing for a long time. If this could make it so your very own music could be put on the game, this would be over the score.
Reliability: 6/10
This one of the most annoying parts of the game. On occasion, the dance pad may not send a message to the PS2, or the game can't pick it up. Also, it might boo you when you get a perfect, which can be annoying when trying to accomplish a AAA. Another bad part is the memory, the workout mode takes a huge chunk out of your memory card. This might not matter to people like me, who have a few amount of games, but to people who have Madden's or NBA games, this can be killer.
Replay ability: 9/10
This game can keep you dancing for years. With 4 difficulty modes, you have to practice hard to be a master. This is an awesome multi-player game if you have 2 DDR dance pads. If you just played Final Fantasy XI for many hours, and you want to play something different, play this. From Young Kids to adults, this game can addict many age groups.
Total Score: 8/10
Rent or Buy?: Buy
I gave this an 8/10 for poor graphics and reliability, but sound boosted the score up. I would buy this game if you like to play sports. People think this games is for girls, but it sure is not. I thought it was until my cousin showed it to me.
