"A game of a thousand words and secrets"
First thought's:
When I first saw this game I was confused of why the game was there for such a long time, so I decided to buy it and test it out to see how fun it was. Once I played it I was confused on how it started it showed Ico just riding on a boat with some men with armor, but still I was amazed by the way the game looked its was always in a da-zzy fog of color, which I thought was amazing, but I still kept me wondering. I give it a 8.5 for my first thought's of the game.
The princess:
The princess is truly a important part of the game she had to be with you the almost the whole game the only times you are able to leave her and comeback for her is when she is when you have to and at the ending of the game, but I don't want to ruin it for you so I will let you find out what happens. Anyways she is always with you and your always holding her hand, but the thing is that if you are really into the game it will get harder and harder to leave her alone see that is because they make you want to be close to her and never let her go so she will be safe and in your sight. I give the idea for the princess a 10!
Demons:
They also played a big role in the game they where the ones that you where afraid of and wanted to hit with you big stick you usually have. They will try to take the princess away from you if you don't get them way from her they will really steal her away and you lose the game, but if this does happen you should be able to try again. They come in many shapes and sizes big, small, large, huge, or even small as a over sized spider which in the are really the weakest and smallest thing in the game, so it makes you wonder how big are the biggest ones are! The spiders cant take the princess away, so thats good, but all the other demons can take her so beware of them and run to saver her! I give the way the demons are a 9.
Graphics:
When I first played the game the graphics of the game was just beautiful to me it all blended together like a painting of lush forest and creepy temples. It was just beautiful. It was like a forest, oceans, and buildings all blended together to make a beautiful island of peace and happiness, but those demons always break the moment. Truly it is a game of endless colors and nature that could make you just stare at your environment in the game for hours and trust me I did it for more then a hour! I give graphics a big, fat, huge, 10!
Difficulty:
I thought the game was pretty hard because of the puzzles and having to leave your princess behind while you search for a way out. This was truly a great challenge to me because it was hard for me to leave her behind while I have to let her be in danger of demons. This was a great idea for a game just to leave a princess alone while demons where wandering around to get her. It was truly a great difficult task to me because I often felt like I was being watched or was timed. Just having the feeling that some thing bad is going to happen is scary to me especially when you have to leave your princess behind.I give the game a 10 for difficulty.
Ideas:
The ideas in the game are really well made you could go almost anywhere you want but you had to use your mind on every single moment of the game like when you have to go one place to another you first had to find something to move you to the place then find where it was and where it would take you and remember where it takes you, because for all you know it might lead you to a dead end or a random place or even a tip of a mountain! Those where great ideas for a game to have the feeling of confusion and even frustration that makes you go made. To me thats what makes a short game fun. Endless puzzles and ideas that you would never imagined to be able to do. So I give the people who made the ideas in the game a big fat 10!
Game play:
Now the game play was in a way common to a adventure game you were able to climb, jump, and swim. The only thing to me that was cool to the game play was that you could call upon your princess to come to you, and also able to hold her hand so you could not lose her. This made the game very cool because this is the only game I know of that does it truly a masterpiece. I give the game play a 8.
Overall:
The way the puzzles all blended together was in a way magical and beautiful. Just the way the puzzles worked and who you used them and solve them one after another to get back to your princess, so you can hold her hand again is truly a beautiful, so I give the game a overall rating of great big 10.
