Inuyasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask

Introduction

Okay, let me start off bny saying that I am a big fan of anime. This includes Inuyasha. When I first heard that Inuyasha: Secret of the Cursed mask was coming out, i immediately went out and preordered it. Boy was I not disappointed. Not only did it get released in my town six days earlier than expected, it is an awesome game. So here's the breakdown.

Story 10/10

The story is pretty much the same as the original Inuyasha anime. The only real difference is that your character is an original character who is also transported back to the Feudal Era and is trying to get back home. Near the beginning you meet someone with a weird mask on and that's pretty much all I can say about the game's story without spoiling it for you.

Gameplay 8/10
This game's controls are really easy to understand, since it is a turn-based RPG. Actually the only reason I am giving it an 8 is the fixed camera angles are kind of hard to see around. Other than that, it is extremely easy to play.

Graphics and Sound 10/10
So far, I have only heard two original songs from the Inuyasha series. All the rest is completely new music and suits the time period. The background in the game are beautifully detailed and the character models are wonderfully chibified (for all you chibi lovers out there). There are also authentic voiceovers form the cast of the English dubbing of Inuyasha in every cutscene.

Play Time/Replayability
To tell you the truth, i really don't know the play time for this. I'm about halfway through the game and I've logged about 40 hours so I guess maybe 80 hours. But with so many battle movies to unlock and scenarios to play through, you're going to be replaying this game for a little while, so clear a few months off your calendar.

Final Recommendation
Well this depends solely on if you like Inuyasha or not. It truly is a decent RPG so even if you aren't into Inuyasha or haven't watched the show, I would recommend you look up the main plot of the story or watch a few episodes and then go out and BUY the game. Or if you like Inuyasha, just go Buy it.

In conclusion, this game is a fanboy's/girl's dream and I will give the actual play time when I complete the game ^_^.
