Sonic Mega Collection Plus

"Great game, well worth the price."

Okay, for those of you that don't have a clue what this game is about, then you should probably check the message board before reading this if you want a long discription. In short, it contaings most of the sonic games for genesis and game gear. (for those of you that don't know, game gear is Sega's hand held system developed in the 90's) This game is entirely emulated, and has no new content in the games. The main point in most of the games is to defeate Dr. Eggman. Most of you will probably know him as Dr. Robotnick, or the Eggman instead, but he is the same character. He is turning animals into robots and you have to stop him.

Gameplay. 10/10
Obviously if you played the Sonic games before you know what to expect. Theres a lot of running jumping and collecting rings. I know, it sounds incredibly retarted, but it is so addictive its rediculous. Some parts can be anoying, like any game, but most of the game is very fun to play.

Story 9/10
I explained part of it in the begining. Most of the game is spent collecting rings, figuring how to get out of parts, and beating the special stages. Some of the games special stages have you trying to get a chaos emerald, If you collect all of the chaos emeralds, you turn into super sonic. (go to a FAQ page to find out what he is, I don't feel like explaining it, but trust me its worth it.)

Graphics/Sound (not rated since not new engine)
There isn't anything to rave about here, because its an emulated game. If the only thing you care about in a game is graphics, go buy Far Cry or Doom 3, nobody cares what you have to say about it. A lot of people are complaining about the little black edge around the screen. So what? Push R3 and it will go away, how hard is that to do?

Play time/ replayability 10/10
Play time varies a lot. I have a friend who had everything unlocked in just over 1 week. Another of mine doesn't have anything unlocked. Its just how much time it takes you to get through some of the puzzles. As far as replayability goes, I have never gotten sick of a single game on this.

Overall 10/10
If you loved the original Sonic games, buy it, its only $20. If your not sure, rent it. You will probably like it. I would recomend this to anyone out there, but if you don't have any patients at all, don't bother.
