Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War

"Not as good as Ace Combat 4"

I fell in love when I first played Ace Combat 4. I beat it many times and I always loved every second of it. When Ace Combat 5 was announced, I was happy because I thought it would be like Ace Combat 4. However, I was wrong very very very wrong.

Introduction- You are Blaze, the leader of a flight squadron. Your mission is to defend your country by any meanings. But Ace Combat 5 offers more. Ace Combat 5 offers more than 30 missions (AC4 only offered 18), 50 + planes , and a good story. Besides that, there's an arcade mode, that follows the story of mobius 1 after Ace Combat 4.

Gameplay- Okay but not as good as Ace Combat 4. The controllers are still the same, but there they added some new options. You can use the directional buttons to give your wingmen orders. Almost everything else remains the same. One thing I didn't like was the AI, it's very stupid even on the hardest difficulty. Also your wingmen are really bad, they don't actually help you at all.

Graphics- The graphics in Ace Combat 5 improved a lot from Ace combat 4. The FMVs are awesome, But sometimes they're too short. The surface looks pretty nice to see and the trees are gorgeous.

Story- The story is good. I really liked it, more than Ace Combat 4's story. However most of the characters are bad. In every mission, they (your wingmen) are always talking about pointless things. This is very annoying because it doesn't make the game real, and you always have to listen to their stupid conversations.

Rent or Buy?
I suggest you rent it first, to see if you will like it or not. You can easily beat the game in 2 days. But if you like it and you like the missions and everything about it, buy it and try to unlock everything. Also, if you think this game will be as fun as Ace Combat 4 rent it first.
