"Greatest Eye Toy game to date."

Sega Superstars put simply is the biggest names the EyeToy will ever see. Obviously if you do not own an Eyetoy you'll need to buy it packaged with one or forget about it. But is it worth forking out full price for a game that could be considered gimmicky? Well yes and no, depends on what you expect. It is by no means an epic and when you see all the various gaming legends appearing in it, they only appear in sort of mini games rather then several huge games. The one major fault I would say about this game is that many of the games use the same idea. For example, you use your arms to control Sonic looking for rings, you do the same controlling Nights flying through rings, and the same for AiAi while controlling a ball. In other words you are playing the same game with different images on the screen. Other games do different things such as hitting an opponent or hitting things on screen.

--Graphics -- One thing that EyeToy Play suffered in was it's graphics. It looked rushed and concentrated on the basic idea of it rather then detailed graphics. Sega superstars has lush graphics that would look presentable in a normal game. And thankfully the person using it is not spread over the entire screen like in other eyetory games. Of course how nice it looks depends on your appearance ;).

--Sound--

No epic music or pumping tunes but what do you expect. The music suits the game fine and the best way to describe it would be "arcadey". Rings plink, chimps cheer, fighters yell and ghosts howl. Satisfactory.

--Gameplay--

As I mentioned in the intro, the games sometimes overlap with ideas. Other games such as the one from "House of the Dead" are direct copies from Eyetoy play games. It really does highlight the lack of uses the Eyetoy can be used for. As the games go they are a great novelty to play the first time but soon descend to being just the same thing again. If you are playing with a friend they'll never get boring. But on your own the repetitive gameplay repeats itself more then an Indian takeaway. In short, the game is fun but repetitive

--Lifespan--

Won't end if you are playing it in multiplayer. If not it will get stale after only a week. After about 2 weeks you will be ready to trade it in. It must be noted that the game lacks depth and so it is somewhat mindless. But I'm sure if you are considering getting this you know what to expect.

8/10

This was a game made for renting. If you plan on using this for multiplayer it is well worth it. If you plan on buying it for yourself take caution.
