Bionicle

"A disappointment to Bionicle. Simply awful."

Back when, I used to be a huge Bionicle fan. I used to check out the website, played the on line game. I had the action figures, the masks, the works. Then I bought this game. And thats where the obsession ended. Wow. Anyway, I don't keep up with Bionicle anymore. It's been so long, so please excuse me.

This game doesn't really deserve a review. It is simply put, terrible. Pohatu, Gali, Tahu, Onua, Lewa, etc. Ooh! Toa of Light! Don't forget about him. This is not the game I was hoping for when I first heard about it. I guess we don't get everything we hope for. Anyway, on to the review.

Game Play - 4/10
The game-play is very easy. It's not too complicated. It requires the intelligence level of perhaps a 5 year old. Press X to jump, O to blast your little energy. In my opinion, this game is just much too easy. Oh yeah, there is that whole charge up thing that gets annoying. But over than that, it is just average.

Story - 2/10
Wait, there was a story? Oh, right. Go through each level, fight off people, defeat Makuta. How exciting and original. Not! This didn't exactly follow the story. Maybe they could have even, I don't know, added something! I just don't get it.

Sound - 2/10
Please...just make it stop. Where is the mute? I think I'd prefer a chorus of whirring, random Gyroids (Animal Crossing) over this. Okay, well that's taking it a bit far but you get my point. The music, in my opinion, is terrible. And repetitive!

Graphics - 5/10
The graphics aren't too bad. They could've done better I guess, but this is probably the best aspect of the game. It is very pleasant on the eyes. It's not too sharp, but it's no Final Fantasy or anything of the sort.

Replay Value - 2/10
The only reason it gets anything more than a 1 is the fact that you can collect all the lightstones and matoran in each level. Besides, you go through each Toa's realm and do some thing. Bam. Do you really want to go back through each droning level? I think not. Oh, but you can unlock the Extras Menu! Not that I even bothered. What a waste.

Conclusion:
Don't buy this game, and in my opinion, don't even rent it. Or, go to Gamestop or something and buy at used for about $10. I'm serious. It's that bad. I was just disappointed beyond words when I first beat this game. I can't believe I wasted $40 on this! It was a few wasted hours of my life. Don't get this game unless you are die-hard or just looking for a funny experience.
