"WORTHY sequel to a great first game"

When I first opened this game I thought to myself, was this going to be a great game like POP: Sands of Time or a dud like other sequels I have played? They made a great game in my opinion, but read on to find out if you'd like to get it.

Graphics: 9/10

This aspect of the game kept with the level Sands of Time set. The environments are amazing and it is awesome to see passages and halls as they are in the present, worn out and cracks in the walls and other stuff, turn into these beautiful passages in the past. There are a few problems with the lighting though on the PS2 version, because in a few places it gets very dark and hard to see. A minor problem, though, if you ask me.

Gameplay: 10/10

The combat in Sands of Time was, to admit it, a little repetitive. Warrior Within gives a little more flavour. It has a ton of different moves and combos. Plus it has the second weapon feature. This adds a whole new dimension to the game as probably about 50% of the combos come from this. There is also a new grab feature. If you don't have a second weapon you can do many things like throw the guy off a cliff, strangle him, steal their weapon, or just attack them. With a whole ton of puzzles, the gameplay is phenomenal.

Story: 8/10

POP: WW is set a couple years after the first one. A creature called the Dahaka is hunting down the Prince. Since Prince was supposed to die when the Sands of Time were opened the Dahaka is fulfilling his fate. Prince then comes up with this brilliant idea to go to the Island of Time, where the Sands where first created and kill the Empress, who created them, in the past, before she creates them. It is a pretty good story line.

Final Grade: 9/10

Rent or Buy: I'd rent it first, and if you like it I'd buy it. This is a great game. Keep em' comin' Ubisoft.
