In a land where monsters roam the grass lands and great winged beasts called wyverns patrol the skies. Who will slay the these monsters...who will fall victim to their power? In the world of Monster Hunter you have to earn the right to be called a true Monster Hunter. Through vigorous quests you will encounter beasts others have failed to kill. Only one person can slay the wyverns...will it be you?

<<The Life of a True Monster Hunter>>

This game can be experienced both off-line and on-line. Though most of the "stronger" weapons and armor can only be obtained through on-line mode. Off-line mode is just as good. First, off-line is set around a small village. In this village you can acquire most of you basic supplies. There is an armor (weapons and armor craft/buy store), materials store, and a combination shop. Your House is also found here. You can rest and save in it. In off-line mode, you can obtain half of your necessary materials to be a successful hunter.

Secondly, on-line mode is set around a town. The same supplies are sold here and then some. There is an items shop that most of the items can only be obtained via. On-line. There are also special days that sales happen, like half-off day and extra materials day. You cannot find a house here; instead you can rest and save in some sort of hotel. There are different rooms in the hotel; selling different food combinations that when you pick the right one you will get a bonus or a decrease of an attribute.

Monster Hunters adventuring is revolved around quests. You can do quests off-line and on-line. Some are the same and others are exclusively just for on-line. Most of the quests are 50 minutes long.

Secondly, offline quests are harder to do by you. You definitely need to do these quests with 4 other people. As I just stated on-line quests can be played with 4 other people. More quests are also available for you also to play.

In conclusion, there are a large variety of quests to experience in Monster Hunter. Each quest is unique, some are easy, and some are just plain difficult to do.

<<Misc. Information>>

~Sound~

The sound quality is great. The orchestra that made the songs is very talented. Each area has there own song and wyvern "battle" song. There could've been more variety of fangs; there are only 10-15 different songs.

~Video/Graphics~

Each area is bright and colorful. There is not much to say about the picture besides that it is crisp and clear. Graphics are also excellent. They are more than you would expect from an online RPG. I was surprised on the detail of the weapon, armors, environments, and the monsters and the people.

~Controls~

The controls are very responsive. If you press the "roll: button you will roll right away. The selected control scheme is unique and easily learn able. The most unique part has to be attacking. You attack using the Right Analog stick. Each direction you push is a different attack.
