Jak 3
Review by TrueGamer104
"Try not to have a Jak attack..."
~INTRODUCTION~
Jak and Daxter sure has come a long way from the first game The Precursor Legacy. In my highest opinion I think they just keep getting better and the improvements are fitting for such a series. In this latest installment of the series, Jak 3 offers so much it's unbelievable how they fit all that into a game. And when I say that I mean this game is huge. More guns, bigger guns, more vehicles, more missions, more edge of your seat action. So for anyone who was a bit skeptical of this games release relax, they couldn't have made this game any better. If you are a fan of the series then you will simply take to this game like a fish in water, if you are new to the series and seem interested in this type of game then you have come to the right place. Now on with the review...
~STORY~
The story in Jak 3 simply blew me away. For this type of game I would have expected a simple cool yet not overly exciting story but I was wrong. The story is fantastic and the ending is perfect and unforgettable. I really don't want to spoil anything because of this games "story" is great. But to put it as simple as possible and to give you an idea at first.......Jak is needed to save the planet.........again. Be prepared for some serious twists and turns, and will answer any questions which lingered from the previous games left unanswered.
~GAME PLAY~
The game play in Jak 3 is fantastic. I will talk about some of the improvements of this game because it's pretty much the same compared to Jak 2. There are more gun upgrades and guns which obviously must be earned through difficult tasks which you must perform. There are far more precursor orbs to collect for even more and better goodies. Trust me, collecting them all will be worth your troubles. There are far more vehicles and the driving missions although they get frustrating at times are more fun. You will find yourself trying missions over and over again until you get it just right but you can't help but walk away and try again later refreshed..(unless your like me and try to beat it right then and there because it will nag at you the rest of the day) There are new Jak powers to discover and use to your advantage. And like I stated in my introduction this game is huge. There is much to explore so the game isn't short, you will find yourself putting quite a few hours into this game. Jak is even more bad and back for some wicked action. And how could we forget the witty and smart remarks and comebacks from Daxter. I would say some of them are a bit hilarious...Jak 3=Good.
~GRAPHICS~
The graphics have improved a bit from Jak 2, the framerate when turning the camera is a bit better now. Jak even looks better than ever. The environments are detailed to the max and are amazing. It's hard to say this about a game but some areas are just beautiful. Like in Jak 2 the game switches from day to night and both day and evening look breath-taking. The graphics in this game are very sweet, absolutely no problems.
~CONTROLS~
After playing this game for a bit the controls should be no sweat to you. With a lot to do the buttons are placed in convenient areas for your fingers. No actions should take you to long to get used to.
~SOUNDS~
Certain sounds and sound effects return from Jak 2 along with a lot of new music and sound effects as well. Nothing is repetitive and annoying but fits every occasion. The voice acting is nothing to argue over. (Yes that means it's pretty darn good)
~REPLAY VALUE~
I would certainly say that the replay value in this game is very high and I will explain why I thing that. First off I said there is much to explore and you will want to explore everywhere for goodies. That can take some time and with all the unlockables you will be replaying the missions over and over again.
~LAST WORDS~
I recommend this game to anyone to at least try. I do feel you should at least look into this game or rent it before trying it. I don't know why you would dislike such a likable game but different views and feelings is what makes the world go round. You don't need to collect all 3 games to understand whats going on but if you find Jak 3 good I think you should get the rest because it's one hell of a series. I hope you found my review informative and if you decide to get the game I wish you hours of game play bliss and excitement.
-Happy Gaming.
