"Dynasty Warriors 5 New and Improved"

Dynasty Warriors 5 is a new installment in the Koei family. This game takes place in post Han China in and around 200 CE. It takes place over fifty years and follows a character from one of 3 Kingdoms or a character from another area of China such as Lu Bu and Meng Huo. Before I get into why this game deserves a 10/10 I have to get some thing off my chest,

THIS GAME WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE SAME STORY LINE!!! IT IS BASED ON A BOOK THAT IS BASED ON SOMEWHAT TRUE EVENTS!!

There I said it an I am happy about it.

Graphics: 9/10
Nothing really new, however they did cut back on the slow time on the battle field. The game is a lot smoother and with more videos it makes the story much more interesting. Besides that theirs nothing new but you can't give the old standard a bad rating!

Sound (not music) 7/10:
Low score I know but I have my reasons. When I first started playing I noticed that each enemy made a different scream when sttruck which I found interesting and quite nice touch, but two or three of the screams are the most utterly annoying things that I have every heard they are high pitched yappy dog screams. Another thing I don't like is how some of the characters voices are different in battle then they are out of battle.

Music 10/10:
Same old Same old, nothing to report.

Character Development 10/10:
Each character has little Bio sections and are very unique. Thier skills increase the same way as always. Its nice to learn more about each character which makes this game much different then any of the others in the series. Another thing is Koei stuck to its word this time saying that each character has their own story line. In previous games they all played the same levels in this one they only play on average 5 levels.

Gamplay 10/10:
Same as always except for the fact tht each character plays different levels and they only play levels that they can play a role in. Weapons have a new twist in that you can have your stronger weapons much earlier by finding them in crates all around the battlefield.

Replay Value 10/10:
48 characters enough said.

All Around Score 9.8(10)/10
