Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Review by PS2Joey
"This game was very good, too bad it's short."
Introduction
This is the ultimate Jedi action experience. It is the Jedi game that we have all been waiting for. In this game you play as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi through the levels based on the Revenge of the Sith movie. The storyline follows the movie very good, along with the battles on the movie. There are some movie clips in there too to give a sneak preview to the movie for those who haven't seen it, or to make you feel that you are really playing the movie. Overall, this is a very good game.
Story
The storyline in this follows the movie exactly. And if it follows the movie then that automatically makes the storyline good right. Right. In this game you get to see how Anakin and Obi-Wan's friendship gets destroyed by the dark side. You get to play through the many different planets that are in the movie. In this game you also get to see how Anakin turns to the dark side. Therefore, this game has a great storyline.
Graphics
This games graphics are pretty good. The characters don't look perfect, but they look pretty good. The levels look good like the background and other things. I like how the enemies look best. The droidekas, aka destroyer droids, look just like they do in Battlefront. Though the graphics aren't great, they aren't bad either.
Sound
Well what Star Wars game doesn't have great sound. All of the background music is the same as it is in the movie, and we all love John Williams great music. The voice overs sound almost like their movie counterpart so that is good. Overall, this game has very good sound, though it is the same for all Star Wars games since they all sound similar.
Control
This games controls is very good as well. The control set up is very good. The light saber attacks are on the main buttons, (X,O, etc) and the force attacks are on the shoulder buttons. All of the combos are fairly easy to pull off, they are like square, square, triangle. The special attacks are not that hard to do either. Overall, this game has very good controls.
Game play
As I said earlier, this is the ultimate Jedi action experience. You play through all of the worlds in the movie with Anakin and Obi-Wan. In each level you either have to get to a certain point while busting through a bunch of droids or clones, or you fight against a Jedi or Sith. This may get repetitive but it is still fun all the same. After each level you will use the experience you gain to level up your skills to make them stronger. Also, you can find secrets which will raise your health, force meter, or some make your skill level max out for a couple of seconds. Overall, this game has a good single player mode.
My favorite part about this game is the multi player, particularly the versus mode. Here you can play against your friends to see who the real Jedi master is. This is like a mini fighting game. There are about ten different duelists that you can be. Each has their own moves and special attacks. In the arenas that you fight in there is various things that you can use against your opponent, like throwing a bomb at them using the force. This mode may be good enough to be a game in itself. There is also a co-op mode. This isn't as good as I hoped it would be. All you do is play a level where you fight a bunch of enemies until you win. This is nothing else to do in co-op. Overall the multi player is still good because of the versus mode.
Replay Value
Though you might want to replay this game a couple of times, the single player is way too short. Even if you do beat it two or three times it will only take a week at most to do that. The versus mode may last for a week or two also. So if you are looking for a game to keep you busy for a couple of months or so, look elsewhere.
Final Recommendation
I would suggest you rent this game or wait until it gets cheaper. with how short it is, it is not worth fifty dollars.
