Medal of Honor: European Assault

"What?! EA just made a good game?!"

This is definitely a step in the right direction, and is my favorite in the console Medal of Honor series. However, there is some minor problems that make you cringe thinking about them...

Graphics: The graphics in this game are fairly nice, the characters faces are well done, and the environments are fairly detailed. BUT, there is many many graphical glitches which brings this down, they're just hard to explain, but you see them often. Overall I give the graphics a 7.0/10.

Gameplay: Amazing...the great MoH feel is back. It's not as much run as gun as the older games, but that's a good thing. Believe it or not, the Nemesis bosses and the Adrenaline modes are great. I was worried about both before I got my hands on the game, but they're both a blast. The open battlefield makes the game a lot more fun, but the nitpick here is no co-op. Overall I give the gameplay a 9.0/10.

Controls: Very solid, EALA did the controls right with few complaints from me. Overall I give the controls an 8.5/10.

Presentation: Again, very solid as Presentation is so much in WWII games. Unlike what EALA's MoH site names the weapons, the weapons have the correct names in the game. Overall I give the presentation a 9.0/10.

Sound: Perfect, honestly. The music is better than any other MoH game, or possibly any other WWII game. The sound effects such gunshots and all sound right. 10/10.

Multiplayer: Very very good. 16 maps, a bunch of customizable modes, but no bots or online. However, it should keep you busy for a while. 8.0/10.

Final thoughts:

This game warrants a purchase at $39.99, but at the very least a rent if games like this don't hold your attention very long. If you're tight on cash and are looking at the cheaper Medal of Honor: Frontline or Call of Duty: Finest Hour, for example, I can't go against either of those since the have the same high quality and fun gameplay.

My final score for this game (not an average) is 8.0/10. I'm impressed with Dan Winters and the entire European Assault team, good work on a good game, fellows.
